When measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. in 2000, it didn't disappear on its own. 👉🏼👉🏼Our evidence-based systems and **proper management of these systems by qualified people** made the difference. 👈🏼👈🏼

Social factors like housing, income, education, and environment can account for up to 80% of health outcomes, while medical care accounts for the remaining ~20% (National Academy of Medicine). Stop telling people to pull themselves “up by the bootstraps” when some don’t even have any.

If health is wealth, why do we keep disinvesting in it? Why are we cutting research funding and changing the childhood vaccine schedule that keep us healthy?

Racism in our healthcare system isn’t just history. It’s happening right now, and it will continue to cost lives until we tear down the systems and barriers that perpetuate racism.

Have the kids who’ve been kidnapped by #ICE had their diapers or pull-ups changed as often as they need? By someone they trust? Is the detention center they’re being held at heated? Are they all alone? Are they allowed to have toys? Do they have enough blankets? I know the answers.

I grew up believing #policy officials always had our best interests in mind. They’d stand in front of cameras saying, “We’re doing everything we can…” — but often it was performative, misguided, or a distraction from the real problem.
