Umm Okay?? The basketball team literally lost today, there’s bigger fish to fry.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 18/12/2024

Spectrum Center full of Carolina blue tonight. Unfortunately, Coach Hubert Davis continues to come up short in getting his guys ready to go. I’ll be out of here at halftime with a score differential like this. Full column will be out immediately after the final buzzer.

Anyone half first half thoughts to share? Maybe a comment or two on head coach Hubert Davis? I could probably pick out a few fans in the crowd tonight who would care to comment😅

Big one tonight in the Dean Dome. I’m here taking things in just over an hour from tip. Should be a busy night. What are we expecting tonight? Let me know below!

Pure hoops on this side, my friend. A mere observation from a bystander.

Too much Johni Broome, not enough Carolina players who can stop Johni Broome. He might go for 40, folks.

Under 12 timeout - Tar Heels down 23-12. It is LOUD in here. Auburn clearly the more energized team. A Handful of Carolina fans heard yelling “Stop the count!” After Auburns 10-0 run early. If you know, you know.

Holding me accountable, Jay. I appreciate it and will be better. We must compartmentalize, and I will be there for the games entirety tonight.

Too obvious? Like I said, taking it on the chin.

‘93 FSU game was something else. Remember watching it with my dad. May he rest in peace.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

I’ll take that on the chin. My only regret was not using up my Per Diem before the Heels tipped off!

120

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Indeed! I was bad juju, Chad. Plus, there was a fair amount of Per Diem I had to tap into before the night ended. Can you blame me? (Yes you can)

010

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

I shouldn’t have indeed. Mondays Per Diem wasn’t going to use itself though. We’ve made our way back to catch players post-presser.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Sorry Mark, I understand your frustration but I had a bit of Per Diem to use before the day ends anyways. Good to see they fought back!

Myself, along with a handful of other media members, have left the gym. We will be back for UNC/Iowa State tomorrow evening. We’ve seen enough to put together our columns for this atrocity.

On to Maui! Takeaways from last night? (For those who stayed up?)

Gameday! Beautiful day here in Honolulu already. Who’s staying up back home to watch the Heels tonight? Let me know! #TarHeelNation

Wheels up to Hawaii in about an hour. Working on a column for a couple of the guys and how they compare to former players at their position. Which got me thinking of some guys I miss wearing the Carolina blue. Let me know who your top 5 favorite Tar Heels of the last decade are! #ReplySky

Love it. Brady’s solo year was unmatched. Very nice kid as well to the media.

Long flight this week to Honolulu, I’ll have some time to think about the Tar Heels and what we need to see to ensure a successful feast week. I think if we continue to get solid minutes from Lubin/Claude/Tyson, then Maui could be ours for the taking. Anyone disagree? Let’s hear your thoughts!

Fair concern, personally I’m not worried about RJ in the slightest. Love what we’ve seen from Drake so far as well, especially on the defensive end. Refreshing to see guys want to guard!

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

I’m surprised to see the amount of concerns for RJ early on. His % may be low, but it’s just so early to even be concerned in my opinion. Just like Marcus, he’ll figure it out quick and have a great final year.

If they want to leave Hawaii with any type of hardware, they’ll need to avoid any and all funks. That’s a loaded bracket.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

He’ll get back to it, it’s coming.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

The late games are a killer indeed for the folks back home. UConn would be a treat in that final game, but Auburn/Iowa State would be a dog fight. RJ will be fine.

1st half inside the Dome was relatively quiet, yes. Things picked up in the 2nd half for sure, but still nothing too hectic given the score margin.

Carolina Insider @carolinainsider.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Rather quiet night along Press Row in the Dean Dome last night. Tar Heels ran by American 107-55 on their way to a 2-1 start. Next stop, Hawaii. See y’all there. #CarolinaHoops
