Antwerp: so much to say. Let's start with the obvious. A partial view of the Cathedral from our hotel window.

Read @herdyshepherd.bsky.social The Place of Tides in single sitting yesterday. Wonderful writing. Much to think about in terms of balance: striving to achieve in a way understood and celebrated by the wider world or focusing on the immediate good to be done locally. How easy is it to change course?

Phoebe has just crunched up and eaten most of a small plastic toy she found in the garden, which I had foolishly assumed was a stick. She's now in disgrace and under observation 🙄

PS On the other hand, she did completely miss the tiny black cat hiding behind a brick a foot in front of us.

Tonight's fox thought Phoebe wouldn't be able to see it if it stood stock still. Under the security light it had just triggered. She was quite offended. #sighthound

This morning's suburban safari: squirrels playing chase, a fox slinking, parakeets playing and a little egret flying up from the stream.

Well we may not have seen any foxes yesterday, but this morning two chased one another across the road in front of Phoebe, and this afternoon one ran along the back of the embankment behind the house, right under her nose. She's beginning to be a bit offended!
