Welp, MAW is over. One of the best small (though not really compared to expectations) cons I've ever been to in recent memory. Even the parts that weren't great for me as an individual weren't terrible either, and I can't blame that on anyone else. So yeah, really looking forward to next year!

I would love to see apps with mobile ordering having a certain number of orders that a system can handle based on the number of employees on staff and enforcing that limit. The mental scars from one Friday where a crew of two had 40 half-dozen-item mobile orders at once for 4.5 hours linger.

Mobile ordering is great for those with anxiety. I understand and respect that. But it also enables customers to swamp workers with more work than skeleton crews can handle, increasing wait times and self-defeating the whole point of ordering ahead. I can't be the only person to see this, right?

The inevitable distancing of the customer from the food service worker is killing the industry. The customers rarely ever have empathy for the employees at the place where they ordered, and being able to send an order in at the press of a few buttons made the entire thing socialization-free.
