Whereas in basketball and baseball, it’s a more star driven league. Granted baseball still operates kind of plantation like but there are more guarantees and a path to a guaranteed payday. Also more white players. NBA probably has the best deal and it still undervalued them.

Part of it might be that the teams take more precedence in the NFL. The helmets obscure their faces so it’s really the QBs and highlight type players who get the attention. Everyone else is seen as more expendable and replaceable. So they’re just happy to get what they get.

Actually not really. Their union has one of the weakest deals amongst the major professional sports. Their contracts aren’t guaranteed like the NBA or MLB. Which is wild because they take the most punishment and have the shortest careers. I’m trying to think on how that happened and not really sure.

When my wife was doing a rewatch of Gossip Girl, I recognized that they shot one of the scenes at Packer, which is one of their rival schools. My first job as a teen was as a camp counselor at their day camp. Didn’t realize who I was hanging out with back then. Lol.

Yeah I’m curious. Considering he was in high school around the same time as us, there weren’t as many billionaires back then. Unless they’re referring to someone who eventually became a billionaire. Also someone who would have sent their kid to school in Brooklyn and not one in the city.

The really EGREGIOUS part of this? Flores graduated from my prep school as a kid. My $60,000 a year prep school on a 25 acre campus with ducks and ponds and tennis courts.

I just looked up Brian Flores’ Wikipedia and he went to Poly Prep, which is a well regarded private school in Brooklyn (Think Gossip Girl Brooklyn). They could’ve pointed to his education there and at Boston College without specifically mentioning befriending a billionaire’s son.
