A Medusan later showed up in the 3d animated Star Trek Prodigy series a few years ago as one of the main "crew" (complex backstory with an abandoned/lost super advanced Federation ship 5 years after Voyager). They had a robotic exosuit to get around and keep anyone from seeing their form unfiltered.

Baldur's Gate 1 helped me learn the core of the then current 2e ADnD rules, and got me into playing DnD at a table. Baldur's Gate 2 is one of the best sequels and was a fantastic story. BG3 is amazing too, and the Dark Urge option has a lot of Easter Eggs for anyone that played the original games.

And it's nothing new. As anyone that watch "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" and the kids at a mall in the 80's version of Yogi Bear will attest. Though the Scooby Doo show gave us Red Herring, who is the best running gag ever made.

I only have one issue with Dr. DOOM. Everytime I see him, I can't help but think of the old version from the Toyfare magazine. "DOOM WILL TAKE WHAT DOOM CAN GET!"

Good catch with the Big Jim's. Also, the statue holding the sword was based off the first mock up figure.

Actually, Pigboy is reference to the '87 movie. Kid won a contest and got to be in the movie. Another '87 reference? Karg. Complete with hook and filthy neck ruff.

Stinkor is a character (with smell based powers). But my fav was Snake Face. He was a medusa guy that had a slider on his back. When you used it snakes came out of his chest, shoulders, eyes and his tongue came out. He was AWESOME. Best action feature on a villain toy ever.

If it was 1992 and in Canada, you'd be watching "The Odyssey", and eventually get to see young military dictator Ryan Reynolds.
Title card for a show called "The Odyssey"Three very young actors from the 1992 Canadian Show, "The Odyssey". The center person in the group is an extremely young Ryan Reynolds dressed in very "military dictator" uniform.

Man, it's getting so a guy can't even get completely pickled and fall of a cruise ship without people holding it over him for the rest of his life.
Mary Worth comic in 7 panels. Wilbur gets drunk after his girlfriend said no when he asked her to marry him. He stands alone on the deck of the ship at night feeling sorry for himself. He then stands on the railing of the ship, saying "Lookit me! I'm king of the ...", and then falls off the side into the ocean yelling "Worrlld-d-!!"

Monsters and Other Childish Things. Just normal kid doing kid things and then your Teddy Bear is 10 ft tall cyborg in a bear suit ripping apart the government's latest Super Soldier apart with claws that can create interdimensional portals. All while you're looking for honey to calm him down.
Cover for a book called "Monsters and Other Childish Things - The Completely Monstrous Edition". It shows a young girl with a neutral expression surrounded protectively by a tentacle while another is holding her teddy bear for her.

Oh, bad movies are their own kind of fun. My favourite terrible movie is Dark Heritage (or, Drak Heritage as the terrible DVD release says). Based on a Lovecraft story about a family of inbred cannibals, and it is just TERRIBLE.

Great video explaining a stunning image! I'm don't know what this faint line in the corner is, as it seems the stars disappear once you cross over it. I've no doubt the image is 100% real and undoctored. I'm just genuinely curious about what it may be, since I'm not super familiar with space photos

The He-Man movie has one "pronoun" joke in their trailer. But the set up is that Adam is working in HR and has "He/Him" on his name plate, but the tone of the joke is less "pronouns are cringe" and more "foreshadowing is a literary device that..."
A screenshot from the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. It shows a nameplate on an office desk that has two lines. The first is "ADAM GLENN", and the second is "HE/HIM". It is a reference to the 1980's "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" Cartoon, where Prince Adam holds aloft his magic sword to become He-Man, the Most Powerful Man in the Universe, and to fight the Evil Forces of Skeletor.

This gives me some hope. You can see the point where we went from a guaranteed Conservative government to a fourth term with the Liberals under a new leader. And frankly, it was the annexation talk that did it more than those initial tariffs.

DM Mark @carnaganwolfe.bsky.social · 18/04/2025
With all the chaos in the States, and the clear intent of the president to annex us, it is more important than ever that Canadians vote. The consequences of this election with echo for decades. And this isn't a time to spoil a ballot, protest vote, or just stay home. We can see what that brings.
