10/10 The Final Entry in the New Floridian Guidebook for Aliens in New Florida is possibly less confusing once you've read the book. Possibly more! www.carmenloup.com/aliens-in-ne... 💙📚 🌈🚀💫 #NonbinaryLit

Swamp Eye. Infinite Sals out of five. Don’t come here, or do. If you come here, you will be here. If you don’t, you will not. It’s a place that exists in one sense of the word, because it can be spoken about and physically visited, but it also doesn’t exist in that if you aren’t here (and I’m assuming you’re not, because you’re reading this guidebook), it’s only a concept. Until you go to Swamp Eye, it’s made up only of words and pictures. After you leave, it will only be memories.

When you’re here, though…you sure are here. CarmenLoup.com

I have so many candles and oils and spell kits and screen printed goods to make for the many Halloween things we're doing at the shop this month and all I want to do is write 😂. That's what Novelember is for!! AKA NoNoNoNovember when I say no to anything that isn't writing.

One of my favorite little pleasures in life is intentionally mispronouncing the long s as an F in my head when I read things.

I never watched Euphoria because it didn't appeal to me, but I do wish the kids (anyone younger than 30 is a kid) were still doing their makeup with all the bright colors and doo-dads! That was a fun trend that didn't last long enough I think.

Comic book world is very different! Everyone knows there are variants, so they account for it 😅

I really regret the alternate cover idea honestly 😂 I just wish they would link the two versions review pages together!

110

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 29/09/2026

I do have alternates! But I have to buy a new ISBN for every alternate cover and that gets expensive. It also nukes all my reviews, so it doesn't work too well for selling books unfortunately.

I PORMISEEE this is the last time I update the book cover. I'm done. I just missed Aimz too much and May didn't look like herself in my second try. But I swear. That's it. Finished book cover. 🥲

third audacity 2 cover with aimz again but everyone is drawn just a little bit better but now that I'm looking at it it's basically the freaking same as the first version.

My mom once asked if I'd ever write a book that wasn't about "that alien". Even if I start writing historical gothic romances, "that alien" will always be there because "that alien" is actually me. So here I offer you four entire books written for that alien. www.carmenloup.com/novels-bcover

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

Dang it. I'm supposed to be writing smut, but I'm actually getting so much good stuff out for The Audacity 6 instead 😂 Maybe that's the secret. Always be avoiding one project.

I've stopped saying "AI Art" and replaced it with "AI generated imagery" or "content". Subtle, yes, but the language we use really really does make a difference.

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

Ohhh is that because the bi in bi means "2 types of attraction" and not "attracted to 2 genders"? I think that might just be ignorance, not fear. I honestly didn't know that was the distinction myself 😅 It makes sense the way you've explained it though, thank you!

120

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

Goatee...Goat...Goatee...does anyone think maybe...maybe they're called that because they make you look a little like a goat? A little...you know...goaty (complimentary)?

140

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

I really don't want to stir up any discourse here but it seemed like everyone was being pretty nice to me. Could you tell me what was said that read as biphobic just so I don't accidentally repeat it please? 😅 Or just in general what counts as biphobic so I don't do it?

120

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

Oh interesting...there's a third now 😂 Pan is more relevant to me I think? I don't care about gender. My only stipulation is that I don't want a sexual relationship with anyone who could get me knocked up, what's that called? 👀😂

230

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

When I was in my self exploration phase, "bisexual" wasn't as common as "pansexual" was, so I still think of myself as pansexual, but I can't for the life of me figure out if there's a difference except that pansexual was briefly more popular in the early 2000s?

5140

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

I mean, I get it, my pool of AMABs that I can go to ask questions about if I ever write an AMAB character is painfully limited so I guess it's not too far a stretch to assume the reverse is true 🥲

010

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

That's definitely a big issue for me too, when a character's entire arc and personality changes after having a kid. I also think a lot of kid characters are not well written or charming at all 😂 I mean, yes a lot of kids aren't super charming, but some are!! They definitely can be!

110

Carmen Loup🌻🌈 Read Aliens in New Florida! @carmenloup.com · 24/09/2026

Oh yeah, hard agree on all of that. Mainstream media does a poor job at a lot of things but this one especially 😂 Probably related to how a lot of the people who currently get to write the mainstream media have never been and never will be pregnant 🥲
