Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I think politics is, for various reasons, mostly boring. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Not that big a problem, really. Though I assume you mean it should say "programmes" instead? 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I'm sure the BBC and OFCOM disagree. But, regardless of that, where are all the official complaints from the other parties? The questions in the House? DCMS? Pretty sure they'd all have something to say about it. And yet.... nothing. Weird, no? Or maybe you're wrong. Which is more likely? 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Yes. I'm sure you do understand the defintion of the word. But that's not the same thing. Here's OFCOM's definition. There are also other factors that feed into how and why political parties are covered. So no, you really don't understand in this context. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 15/09/2026They do. You just don't understand the concept. It does not mean "report on all parties equally". 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 14/09/2026It is the BBC's job to report on stuff that is happening. If it wasn't happening, they couldn't report on it. All TV/radio news also have to report with "due impartiality". Your issue is actually with the partisan press who are free to 'spin' the news as they like to fit with their agenda. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Of course I'm not actually excusing anything. But you have to make out that I am as that's the only argument you can make. 🤷♂️ 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 05/09/2026My point was that that wasn't something unique to the Amish. Try some reading comprehension lessons 🤦♂️ 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Edge wasn't supposed to be. It was simply a statement of fact. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Have you tried learning some facts? Amish people do get vaccinated, but overall vaccination rates are lower than in the general population. No idea on the abuse thing but that wouldn't be unique to the Amish, would it? 🤦♂️ 300
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 23/08/2026If they give the BBC a permanent charter that would be a start; rather than this "renew every ten years" nonsense. Also no Govt. appointees to the board. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 23/08/2026Fair point. I should have made it a question rather than a statement. But, under normal circumstances that's what would happen, isn't it? The Govt. of the day appoints those people. 100

No. www.channel4.com/news/factche...channel4.comFactCheck: Did the BBC edit a photo of Jeremy Corbyn to make him look close to Russia? Some commentators have accused Newsnight of altering a picture of the Labour leader to make him appear close to Russia. FactCheck investigates. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026If that was aimed at me you're going to have to explain it a little clearer. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Anyone is welcome to their opinion. Doesn't mean they're right. And it doesn't matter who the "top brass" is; they still have to follow the due impartiality guidelines; both their own and OFCOMs. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Yes they are and of course they're going to cover some of the same stories. They can't ignore them. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The fact that all TV and radio channels have to show "due impartiality" in their output. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026You are, of course, welcome to your opinion. I'm just giving you the facts. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Of course that's the right idea. Along with not needing the Charter renewal every 10 years. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026So no actual response then? No rebuttal? No facts to counter with? Fair enough. 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_M... He has been in politics since 2002. I think that makes him pretty qualified for the job. 2/2en.wikipedia.orgChris Mason (journalist) - Wikipedia 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Where are the rules to say one has to have been in print journalism to be takn seriously? I don't take most print journalists seriously because they can be as partisan as they like so how do I know they're telling it impartially? 1/2 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Yes. www.bbc.co.uk/editorialgui... www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and... 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026So you want to blame someone who has no actual control? Okay then but does make you look a little silly. Well, the Labour Party are now in power so they'll be putting their own people there next, right? No bias there 🤦♂️ The point being good luck finding anyone who will be acceptable to everyone. 200
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Then where are all the official complaints from the Labour party, etc? Where are all the questions in the House, DCMS, etc? Your opinion, clouded by on your own biases, is irrelevant. I prefer facts. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The BBC are not responsible for what guests on their programmes say. 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Please do not tar impartial journalists (from any TV/radio news source) with the same brush partisan print "journalists". 770
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026You might want to retract that comment. share.gemini.google/YaYbpTU7eVBo 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026It took me, not-a-journalist about 30 seconds to confirm that you are wrong. Maybe practise what you preach in future? 😉 share.gemini.google/YaYbpTU7eVBo 000
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026So just reporting on what someone said then. As they're supposed to do. 🤷♂️ 010
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Absolutely. It's the basis for every #antivax quack and nutjob out there. 140
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 20/08/2026I just clicked on it now (23:16 UK time) and it re-directs to the official Express site. (And therefore no sign of that article of course.) 030
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 19/08/2026They've (Labour) had FOURTEEN YEARS to make a noise about it 😂🤦♂️ 000

Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 18/08/2026And yet Labour has never lodged any sort of formal complaint with OFCOM or the BBC. Nor have they brought it up in Parliament. Any thoughts on why not? 100
Carl Waring @carlwaring.bsky.social · 18/08/2026As an ex-BBC News Director he will know exactly why BBC News any and all political parties as they do. He is being disingenuous at best; or simply lying. There's a good and proper reason for all of their politics coverage. And another reminder that they are bound by "due impartiality" rules. 000
