Here's the piece WETA aired on Monday night about Takoma Radio! Proud to be a part of this mighty little broadcasting powerhouse for over 7 years now.... almost 8 if you count from when Scott @herbivorous.bsky.social and I applied & auditioned for our show in November 2017. 🎉📻

Excited to be a sponsor of the third annual event celebrating entrepreneurship in the greater Silver Spring community. The idea is to bring the engaging and supportive spirit of the GSSCC's OEC to a wider audience, providing insight, inspiration & real talk about starting & running a business here.

This year has only seen the collapse of civilization as we know it, but at least the music has still been there for us. Tune in this Tues (7/15) from 12-2, and let us provide a refuge from the madness with some of our favorite releases from the first half of 2025 at WOWD 94.3 and takomaradio.org!

We did a bit of talking on today's show to encourage listeners to visit takomaradio.org/donate during our fundraising week – but there was plenty of great music too! Check it out: www.mixcloud.com/rockrabbitho...

It's Bandcamp Friday which means all purchases today will go to the artists. Please consider overpaying for music by my friend Camilo's band Reset to financially support the music festival he organizes in Samaná, Colombia, which will take place on July 5 this year. ❤️🙏 resetbandcolombia.bandcamp.com

What's that thing David Byrne told us not to worry about? This Tuesday (3/11), we'll anxiously explore the increasingly deserted halls of bureaucracy in search any kind of public-sector salvation. This test of government letters begins at noon EDT on WOWD 94.3 Takoma Radio and takomaradio.org.

Sad to say that this is where I’m at right now: After over 2 hours of incredible music by a top-notch jazz ensemble, the leader mentions that he played in Crimea four years after annexation and will be playing in Belarus later this year. I can’t stand the blatant Putin #artwashing and leave. Slava 🇺🇦

A brilliant & cathartic evening of raging punk rock in the friendly subterranean confines of the Quarry House yesterday! Enjoyed meeting @g-kwiatkowski.bsky.social and his @trupatrupa.bsky.social bandmates in person. Lovely human beings all.

Got an amazing first look at the new exhibit of the art and design of Czech art nouveau pioneer Alphonse Mucha at The Phillips today. An unexpected aspect was the display of numerous psychedelic 1960s album covers and posters that were clearly inspired by this gilded age maestro.

Had a great interview yesterday with acclaimed Polish poet & activist Grzegorz Kwiatkowski – who also happens to play in equally acclaimed Gdańsk post-punk band Trupa Trupa. They perform at the Quarry House on the 27th. Tune in to the Rabbit Hole on 2/25 for our talk and be sure to get tickets now!

Here's a pretty close approximation of my recent camper van excursion, starting in LA going counter-clockwise. It all came out to about 4,500 miles / 7,200 km and was mostly stunningly beautiful, except on the gridlocked LA freeways and the noxious west Texas oil fields around Pecos.

In light of a certain individual’s comments about “developing” Gaza today… as I’ve been visiting numerous wonders of the American southwest, I’ve played a game like “marry, screw, kill,” except when it comes to our national monuments & parks, it’s been “oil field, detention camp, golf course.”

Diane, I am hearing some whispers in the wind that the entity we know as BOB has just been sworn in as President of these United States. Please check this gentleman’s file to see if there’s a history of sexual assault and get back to me. Cooper out. Oh, one more thing… WHAT ARE THE ODDS????

Inspired by a story our soon-to-be former president likes to tell about confronting a "bad dude" at a Delaware pool back in '62, I'll be playing #powerpop from the American midwest – 1970s to present – this Tuesday 12-2pm ET on the Rock & Roll Rabbit Hole, only on WOWD 94.3 and takoamradio.org.

When I was in the 2nd grade, the Scholastic Reader(?) had a Presidential ballot for the upcoming election in that bicentennial year. I cast my first "vote" then for a baptist peanut farmer from the deep South, and I recall that he won my little class in DIllsburg PA by a landslide. RIP Jimmy Carter.
