Some stellar psycedelic blues from the iconic trio with their second studio album They really leaned into the 60s sound with this one - evolving from the straight blues of their first album to the era's more psych fueled sound #vinylcommunity

The mix of country, swampy funk and disco is a blast of a sound - his overall message seems to be that America is broken and having more sex is the fix He takes shots at ICE and the current president between the horny jams tying these themes together Really enjoying this one 🍆😁 #vinylcommunity

How do you follow-up one of the most iconic and best selling albums in music history with Dark Side(?) - how about with an emotional soundscape on loss (with the passing of Syd Barrett) and the challenges of the music industry yeah... that works #pinkfloyd #vinylcommunity

Mid-September?... Time for some Holloween vinyl! This one is a cool add-on to the @durandurancom.bsky.social gothic Halloween album "Danse Macabre" from 2023 - released in last year's @recordstoreday.bsky.social It is also my first zeotrope album which just adds to the "spirit" 👻 #vinylcommunity

Talk about a pedigree... With Cecil Womack as their father (half of the Womack Brothers with his brother Bobby), and Sam Cooke as their grandfather - soul is just flowing within these sisters And, to me, this album (their debut) fully delivers on that family tree! #vinylcommunity

After 10 years, @blackfootwhitefoot.bsky.social takes a break from her solo career, and reunites with the @alabamashakes.com - resulting in some terrific psychedelic grooves Tacking love, hope, and a broken country, with a sound that would feel at home in the 60s #alabamashakes #vinylcommunity

A stone-cold classic whose influence you can still hear in todays music "Gold Dust Woman" is my favorite song on the album. It tackles Stevie's tumultuous relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, the challenges with a rock star life, and the band's increasing addiction to cocain (the "gold dust")

Lance Taylor (Afrika Bambaataa) was a giant in the hip-hop genre. He started DJ'ing in the late 70s as a way to counter the pull of gangs for young men in Brooklyn His music was innovative - mixing electronic with funk and hip-hop in a way that influenced music for generations #vinylcommunity

Starting as an early 20th century African American spiritual, "Sinnerman" was initially performed in churches to warn of the repercussions of sin. In Nina's hands, it became an urgent call for people to face their role in spreading racism in the mid 60s #vinylcommunity

By the late 70s, Devo looked out at the rock landscape, and saw a once provacative genre devolve into a bland shell of itself. Their debut album (with Brian Eno producing) was a tongue-in-cheek reflection of that mechanical and soulless devolution #vinylcommunity
