First set of 5 YCHs sold out within a day. 2nd set took 4 days. This 3rd set is still at 2/5 slots 4 days in. I figure either the right people don’t know about ‘em yet (thus my frequent reshares), there’s not a lot of folks that want one, or the folks who do simply can’t afford the luxury for now.

Had a lovely drive through the Lancaster countryside with my sister to indulge in a great big meal at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord. I think it’s been anywhere from 15-20 years since I last ate there, and the food is still really, really good!

The economy is in a really rocky state at the moment, so I understand if “lemme animate your character’s big beef boobies” isn’t exactly in everyone’s budget at the moment. I should definitely consider some cheaper options in addition to the animations to expand my potential client pool.

-Poor Roxas didn’t know what laughter or friends were. Without Axel’s older brother instincts, he could’ve turned out a lot worse. -Could’ve sworn we spent more time with the Castle Oblivion crew. They’re gone before we see a single Disney world. A shame, as more Larxene lines could’ve been funny.

🕰️Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days🍦 -I have not touched the game proper since my initial playthrough back in 2009. -The opening 4 hours seem about as slow/repetitive as I remember. -It’s honestly kinda impressive how well they managed to crunch KH2’s overall look into a tiny, low-poly DS aesthetic.

One last note I neglected to address back when I got to it - the cutscenes the Final Mix version adds before the Battle of Hollow Bastion were an utterly baffling decision. Yeah, sure, let’s watch Xemnas trudge very… very… very… sloooooowly down a series of ramps for 3 dang unbroken minutes.

I’ve grown endeared to the narrative cacophony of this convoluted soap opera starring Disney anime people with silly hair, but there’s no denying KH2’s story is particularly messy. Having played them so close together, I prefer the overall tone and vibes of KH1, despite the clunkier gameplay.

Final (Mix 🥁) Notes II: Mechanically, KH2 is a huge improvement. But the game’s highlights are spread thinner than rice paper across multiple trips to 14+ worlds that all collectively feel like they don’t get their full due. They tried TOO hard to top KH1’s scope. It’s too bloated for its own good.

The final confrontation with Xemnas has its moments, but it tries a little TOO hard to be as over-the-top cool as possible. Whenever the Keyblade wielders start anime teleporting & slicing buildings in half & whatnot the scales tip a smidge too far into Shonen/DBZ territory & tones start clashing.

A’ight, I got my silly little gold crown and I’ve had my fill of KH2. I ain’t doing the smidge left uncompleted in the journal (point goals for two Paradox cups + grinding for arbitrary synth material goals). I’ll type out my final thoughts on this revisit tonight when I’m bored at the airport.

I am literally at Level 99 at this point but the last three losses to Xemnas' final form in the data rematch have been because of the damn sections where they make you play as Riku and OOPSIE DOOPSIE if he get hit all of two times his entire health bar evaporates and it's game over.
