One of the most useful talks at @ndcconferences.com was from @rendle.dev who went through how they ACTUALLY use Clause day to day! Practical examples FTW, I'll definitely adapt what I'm doing.

And good to know that it's not just me feeling the pain of that sort of architectural bottleneck. This sounds a much better, keen to take your ideas back to the team

110

Carl @carlcod.es · 30/01/2026

@andrewhl.bsky.social fascinating insight into your approach to architecture in the world we find ourselves in at @ndcconferences.com london

Not sure the source, but found this on FB, and it genuinely made me guffaw. The solution to the trolley problem

Why is Brighton flipping me off?!?

030

Carl @carlcod.es · 23/08/2025

Classic reinforcement of gender stereotypes from the BBC. The national team thrashes USA in the Women's Rugby World Cup, and the headline story is a male footballer daydreaming about being a wrestler. FFS 🤦

And that was that - I'm exhausted, elated, and excited for next time! Thank you to all at Umbraco who made it a really special week!

Carl @carlcod.es · 01/05/2025

After an insanely busy week with DDD South West finishing, I thought I'd write up a quick post based on a few conversations I had during the run up and at the event itself lnkd.in/gxpV55yk

Me and the DDDSW audience - so many people!

Carl @carlcod.es · 11/02/2025

If you get a chance to see this talk then you absolutely must! @rendle.dev giving an insight into everything we do as software developers, and all the mistakes we’ve ever made along the way!!! (go read the instructions on a packet of toothpicks) A brilliant evening at @dotnetsouthwest.bsky.social

061

Carl @carlcod.es · 31/01/2025

The very fact that @rendle.dev has no idea what they’re doing up there, still gets up there and delivers a cracking keynote just illustrates how amazing they are and what lovely ideas they have and can share! Impostors unite!!

081

Carl @carlcod.es · 31/01/2025

@davidwhitney.co.uk at @ndcconferences.com wrapping up the talks with a look at building your game engine in the browser- super interesting dive into a new topic for me

072

Carl @carlcod.es · 31/01/2025

Well he looks a lot like Tuffers

100

Carl @carlcod.es · 30/01/2025

Ok this is a new and delightful experience! I’d heard the line breakers were good but wow! What a way to end an awesome day 2 at @ndcconferences.com #NDCLondon

121

Carl @carlcod.es · 30/01/2025

@bijington.bsky.social giving a great talk with brewing, IoT and .NET at @ndcconferences.com - time to dust off my own experiments

120

Carl @carlcod.es · 29/01/2025

To wrap up day 1 at #NDCLondon @kevlin.bsky.social managed the dual feats of bringing a discussion around spacetime around distributed systems and not falling off the stage

181

Carl @carlcod.es · 29/01/2025

Wow, love that this was shared without a hint of irony 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🤦 #OpenAI #DeepSeek

150

Carl @carlcod.es · 29/01/2025

And @nickchapsas.bsky.social has some SERIOUSLY cursed C#, both brilliant but also guaranteed to wreck your codebase. I might need to track the repo down, or try and replicate some of it 😈😂

000

Carl @carlcod.es · 29/01/2025

Having a lot of fun at #NDCLondon so far - fantastic keynote by @scott.hanselman.com to a packed room. AI is not the plumber, it’s the spanner. It’s also the parrot, just repeating what it is taught back to us. Those who learn to use the tool to its best will get the most from it

Carl @carlcod.es · 28/01/2025

Just over 3 days to go until the deadline for #DDDSouthWest Call for Speakers! You do NOT want to miss out, so this is your friendly reminder to add the finishing touches and get that talk submitted, or you'll miss one of the best free conferences buff.ly/41UI0O7 Hope to see you there 🙂❤

We don't celebrate good outcomes enough! Yesterday I had an issue with @umbraco.umbracocommunity.social.ap.brid.gy when trying to buy a license, an issue with Mastercard. I raised a ticket and within moments I had an email, a proposed solution which I took to my client and a solution! Success!

Anyone else notice that with AI results right in the search response, that fewer and fewer websites are being clicked on? This isn't going to be great news for organic traffic - other than ads (which benegits search engines). More work needed in the UX/SEO space for the same views

030

Carl @carlcod.es · 23/12/2024

Thanks to whoever was my #Umbraco #SecretSanta - it hasn’t been here for a few minutes before my youngest decided he wanted to help build it. Very much appreciated ❤️

1130

Carl @carlcod.es · 20/12/2024

4 tracks and a choice of length of session - from lightning talks to longer form. If you've never been before, then you ABSOLUTELY have to come - the conference is free for everyone, and we have such a range of talks, great food from our sponsors. I'm biased, but it's just the best!

100

Carl @carlcod.es · 20/12/2024

It's almost that time of the year - where thoughts turn to one of the best free conferences of the year! DDD South West - the Call for Speakers is going to open very VERY soon! If you've ever considered speaking, this is one of the nicest, most welcoming conferences around.
