I haven't done lapidary since high school ( I'm 68 so...a bit ago) but back then we had a lot of quartz occluded blue/green from Leadville CO, it was a beast to surface enough to bet a base but it really looked good rough finished with a good polish. Very pretty stones.

Yes, I have noticed that in the pieces I have collected. The blue real stones are in the older works, the newer stuff looks more natural, I even like the chunky stones still in matrix, but I have done lapidary so I know they are hard to work with.
