Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 13/10/2026I’m not sure why I continue to listen to The Rest is Entertainment. I have no idea what this Italian Brainrot nonsense is all about. They may as well be speaking Klingon. 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Loves the shots of Hannah with the abacus and Miranda blowing bubble bath foam. It reminds me of something…. #Traitorsstatic.klipy.comKylie Minogue in Bubble Bath - I Should Be So LuckyAlt: Kylie Minogue in Bubble Bath - I Should Be So Lucky 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Drinking game (should you wish to lose your liver): Take a drink every time Marina Hyde says “It’s interesting” on The Rest Is Entertainment. 001
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 18/08/2026My #StarTrek #Voyager rewatch stumbled with S06E03 Barge of the Dead (I put off completing it for 2 weeks). Utterly awful Klingon nonsense. I love Roxanne Dawson but this is one of the weakest episodes for me. 011
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 13/08/2026My scrabble letters are singing the Doctor Who theme tune. 020
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Watching #StarTrek #TNG S05E21 The Perfect Mate. Patrick Stewart & Famke Janssen are excellent but the story is so problematic. A lot of it feels like the horny fantasies of the writers. Plus security on this ship is appalling Mr Worf! The Ferengi shouldn’t be allowed free rein of the Enterprise. 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Oh - I’ve reached the nadir of #StarTrek #Voyager with S05E19 The Fight. Chakotay is into boxing apparently though I don’t think he’s mentioned it before. And he was coached by Boothby who I don’t think he’d met in “In The Flesh”. It’s a load of old nonsense and frankly dull. 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Watching #StarTrek #Voyager episode Counterpoint - absolutely one of my favourites. The interplay between Captain Janeway and Kashyk is so good. Kate Mulgrew and Mark Harelik have great chemistry. 2101
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Watched #StarTrek #Voyager episode S05E08 Nothing Human, a rather hamfisted effort discussing using medicine based on unethical research. The main problem being it falls apart if you spend more than a couple of minutes thinking about the premise. It could be decent but it’s badly executed. 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Masters of the Universe (2026) is a terrific film. Very funny with a lot of heart and a great soundtrack. It’s a shame it’s not doing as well as it should be. 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 11/06/2026I see the internet is taking the Doctor Who news about as well as expected. Personally I’m quite relaxed about the whole business. It’ll be back when it’s back and until then we’ve 800+ tv episodes, countless books and audios to keep us going. #DoctorWho 030
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 26/05/2026Watched #DoctorWho the TV Movie in glorious 4K. It was my introduction to Who in 1996 (I liked Star Trek so I thought I’d give it a go). Paul McGann is wonderful and the remaster looks amazing. If only we’d had more (but then we may not have had the BBC revival). 041
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Watching Voyager S04E04 Nemesis. Chakotay lands on a planet full of annoying aliens and becomes even more annoying than usual. An utterly dreadful episode. #StarTrek #Voyager 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 06/05/2026What was up with episode 3? They’ve gone straight from episode 2 to 4 #onlyconnect 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 25/04/2026Well that was interesting! I had no clue what it was about and I’m not sure I fully understood it but I enjoyed it. #MotherMary 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Watching Death In Paradise. I do wish the detectives would occasionally remind Commissioner Patterson that he doesn’t need to get shirty with them to get them to solve the cases. Each detective has a 100% success rate for impossible crimes. #DeathInParadise 000

Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 03/04/2026Watched The Daleks’ Master Plan 1-3 (plus the wonderful UCLAN reenactment of Mission to the Unknown). Bloody brilliant. Billy takes centre stage with some wonderful lines and you can see why Nicholas Courtney comes back later on. 130
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 17/03/2026Watching Voyager The Thaw. It’s a brilliant episode. So many of my favourite episodes are in the first few seasons of Voyager. Now on to Tuvix… 020
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 13/03/2026Wow! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...bbc.co.ukLost Doctor Who and the Daleks episodes discovered in 'ramshackle' collectionThe Doctor's assistant Peter Purves was invited to a screening of the episodes in Leicester. 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Watching Voyager episode “Prototype”. B’Elanna tells the robot that they have only 1 sentient artificial life form in the Federation: Data which feels like a bit of a slap in the face for the Doctor who she works with. #StarTrek 030
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Great that the Greens & Hannah Spencer have won in Gorton & Denton. It’s such a relief not to have elected a Reform MP, particularly Goodwin. 040
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 23/02/2026Just watched the new Wuthering Heights. I enjoyed it a lot but I wish French and Saunders were still doing their film spoofs. I think they’d make a cracker from this one. 020
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 09/02/2026By curious coincidence both my Star Trek series rewatches have landed on “cryogenically frozen people from the past” episodes tonight. TNG: The Neutral Zone & VOY: The 37s 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 03/02/2026Watching Stargate SG1 “Window Of Opportunity”. It’s a classic. 010
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 02/02/2026I watched the next 2 episodes of Starfleet Academy last night. Vitus Reflux started off poorly with that tedious American College rivalry vibe which I just don’t get but it wasn’t too bad in the end. Vox in Excelso however was brilliant. Jay-Den is a great character. 000
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 17/01/2026I’ve really enjoyed the first couple of episodes of Starfleet Academy. Holly Hunter and the rest of the cast are great and I love seeing more of the 32nd century. I’m looking forward to seeing future episodes. 010

Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 26/08/2025Watching Miss Marple: Nemesis. For me it’s the best of the BBC adaptations (though the entire series is a class act). 020
Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 01/08/2025Paul Wesley is chewing the scenery and fully channelling William Shatner in this #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds episode 020

Carl Akers @carl-akers.bsky.social · 03/07/2025Just watched Jurassic World for the first time. I enjoyed it but I find it odd that a film made in 2015 doesn’t look better than the original Jurassic Park which was made in 1993. Is it because JP was made on film and (I assume) JW was made digitally? 030
