I don't think he's actually wearing that hat. It's an odd hat, and looks like it was Photoshopped on.

Geez. There are too many things in the country that are broken beyond repair. I can't think of a single Republican politician who is now fit to serve. Before 2016 there were many.

Someone needs to work with the Houston rally organizers to tell them to stay on point. There is a wide spectrum of people who would protest Trump, but the last rally had over two hours of liberal-cause speeches and chants before the march began. People began to leave.

I like how Kennedy got himself in the picture with an accusatory glare. He's not actually fooling when he plays a dumbass like some people think

No, dumbass. Did you not pick up that I was there to march against Trump? When they give a time to show up for a rally and still haven't started the march two hours later, the problem is not a short attention span. It is event mismanagement.

In Houston, the last rally was hijacked by a long session of ultra liberal speeches that were way off topic and delayed the march to the point that a lot of the crowd peeled off.

Yep, except for that part about anyone being created in God's image. That is one of the most arrogant and fictional things ever uttered by mankind. Nevermind that no one really even knows what God is.

In the movie Downfall, Hitler's advisors pushed back a little and tried to make him aware of some unpleasant realities. I'm not sure anyone tries that with Trump.

We're reaching the point where Trump's cabinet members and the GOP Congress should be help accountable for doing nothing to separate Trump from the nuclear football. He's spinning out of control and can see that there's no happy ending for himself.

It seems to me that he less fearful about consequences for past actions than he is about a reduction in his future grift potential

Some of us Americans, and hopefull the wide majority, are upset and embarrassed about the buffonish treatment Canada has received from Trump. Trump and the enabling Republican party have become a national disgrace.

Now our government is intervening on ground beef? I've never seen so much market manipulation in my lifetime, and applied in such a dumbass manner. The Trump administration bears almost no resemblance to what Republicans used to be.

They lie with the most-stupid words about the condition of things before their incompetent asses showed up. They lie with even more ridiculous words about the "improvements" they made - we are now a "hot" and "most respected" country even though most of our own citizens are starting to think we suck

They've been convinced that anything non-Trump is "liberal" and that liberals are lazy welfare recipients, moral degerates, athiests, LGBTQ+, and minorities. They take it as faith that the GOP could never be worse and they fear they will be accused of being liberal if they criticize their own party.

Peggy is tiptoeing into the subject because she fails to mention Trump's egotistical buffoonery, deep corruption, trampling of the constitution, failure of law & order, DOJ targeting, tainting of international relations, and that cabinet positions have been awarded based on loyalty vs qualification.

Noonan says that the left is opposing Trump out of "political bloodlust." What a petty remark. Trump opposition comes from a wide spectrum of people who are trying to stop him from ruining the country. The need is extreme because of spineless submission and enabling by Republican polilticians.

I wish everyone who opposes Trump would completely stop defending or even addressing the notion that birth males can play in competitive women's sports. The MAGA movement uses the topic as a weapon. Plus, I suspect that more than half the democrats are actually against it.

They are jerks for slanting the chart to make the difference look bigger than it is. However, I see stuff like that all the time (or worse) in corporate investor presentations.

The fallacy in that cartoon is that Obama is repulsed by Trump and would not be hanging around and smiling. I'm sure he would rather observe Trump's torment from afar

There is a saying in the industry that gasoline prices shoot up like a rocket when crude prices increase and float down like a feather when crude prices fall. Similar with other industries. Prices are set at whatever the market will bear. In due course, competition brings prices in line with costs.

I like the comment I read somewhere saying that Trump wanted to redo the Reflecting Pool because he though it didn't work... every time he looked in it all he saw was a fat and buffoonish-looking old man with a diaper full of shit.

He's doing that in part so that Democratic candidates have a better chance of gaining the support of centrists as needed to win general elections. I'm wondering where you work if everyone who is business friendly is shitty.

Strongly disagree. Also, most states, including California, were created from federally-owned lands. Texas and states in the area of the former 13 colonies are an exception.

I agree about the motive. However, I don't understand how "money laundering" is involved. We know it would be deficit-increasing funds from the U.S. Treasury, and we've already been primed to expect the recipients will be violent, low-life grifters and traitors. It's in the open.

careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 01/06/2026
It's a simplistic take for you to focus on the amount of money or the undeserving people who would receive it. The focus should be on the fact that the underlying motive is to reward violent lawbreakers SO THAT THEY WILL BE WILLING TO DO IT AGAIN!

I think you're exactly right. Most people are sidetracked by the use of taxpayer funds. The bigger issue is the dangerous things Trump wants to do with those funds.

We should stop talking about that fund as though it is for victims. Trump doesn't care about victims. The fund is to make everyone think that J6ers eventually came out ahead for answering his call. He is signaling to his cultists that they will be ok if they break the law for him again
010 0
careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
I think they see the fund as a way for Trump to create a new mob by making past violence seem like it ultimately paid off. They know that they are in the crossfire between Trump loyalty demands and public opinion, so see themselves as eventual mob targets. Deja vu. Even worse next time.
000 0
careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
Trump doesn't care about anyone so we can surmise that the purpose of the fund is to make people think that they ultimately came out ahead because of their violent actions so that they and others will perform when called upon (and paid) to do it again.
000 0
careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
Seems to me that the fund is much more dangerous than grift. If he can use part of the fund to make J6ers think they ultimately benefitted from their violent loyalty to him, he can use additional funds to dupe them and others into a bigger and stronger mob for future dictatorial needs.

I think they are not too dumb to recognize that the primary objective of the ballroom is the underground bunker expansion to hold off presidential transitions and the slush fund is to remove violence-consequence apprehensions so that they can buy a militia to attack Congress and the electoral system
000 0
careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 21/05/2026
McConnell can surmise the real truth -- half the slush fund is to make the J Sixers feel that they came out ahead so that he can motivate them with the other half to do it better next time.

careener.bsky.social @careener.bsky.social · 19/05/2026
Seems to me that the ultimate purpose of the fund is to buy a not-so-small personal militia. The talk about the January 6ers is primarily because they would be easy recruits

A recent Wait Wait Don't Tell Me podcast had a funny comment on the reflecting pool. It said Trump wants to redo it because he thinks it doesn't work... every time he looks into it the only reflection he sees is an old man with crap in his pants.
