A raw look at how women’s voices & well-being can be overlooked, misdiagnosed, & marginalized. There were moments when I was so sad for Lulu, moments when I cheered her on, & when I begged her to stop bc I feared what might happen to her. This is full of heavy subject matter but an excellent read.📚💙

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I loved The Seven Year Slip, and this one was a bit too much of the same without the emotional hits. I really didn’t feel much for these characters. Cute story. Quick read, but not exciting. #booksky📚💙
The Someday Garden - 3 stars

This story started off strong with pageant moms who pressure their girls to follow their footsteps. Add a rich family who gets away with murder & pageant pranks & this felt like a great read. The story fell apart a bit at the end. The twist was underwhelming - I wanted a darker ending. #booksky📚💙
Pretty Dead Things - 3.5 stars

A complex story told from multiple POVs. A rape occurs in a relationship & the families of each party deal with the fallout. The author handles a delicate subject well & shows how people with different roles could view it. It’s also quite sad because a lot of people let these kids down. #booksky📚💙
Such A Good Family - 4 stars

This was a quick, easy read. I didn’t like the repetitiveness in the last third of the book where every single thing was spelled out as far as what happened to those that were missing. The big reveal at the end was just sort of there. Not a bad read but not a favorite. #booksky📚💙

This one started & ended strong, but the middle dragged. There was a lot of talk of redecorating & the stalker was just too over the top, repeating his misogynist rhetoric every time the story turned to his POV. But overall, I enjoyed this thriller with a bit of romance sprinkled in. 📚💙
The Final Target - 4 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed how this story was told through letters. Sybil is a dynamic character - you agree with her & disagree with her & even get angry with her at times. But she is so endearing. The lives developed through these letters are sometimes happy & sometimes sad but always beautiful. 📚💙
The Correspondent - 5 stars

This book was amazing - what a phenomenal story about the strength and resilience of women. I didn’t give it five stars because I didn’t like the ending. It just ended. I think Meg, Charlie, and Birdie deserved better than that. #booksky📚💙

A typical rich gets a divorce memoir. Void of emotion all the way through. Her husband leaves which is emotionally devastating, but she didn’t need to worry about childcare, mortgage, working. She could stay on Martha’s Vineyard & complain only one of them got to keep the club membership. #booksky

The entire book, I hated the main character Natalie & wanted to punch her in the throat. There was nothing likable or redeemable about her. But this book was so well written & the story so interesting, I couldn’t stop reading. If you get a chance, listen to the audiobook. The narrator is amazing! 📚💙

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It has romance, friendships, a bit of spice, & dogs! The FMC is down on her luck & has turned to breaking up couples before (or at) their wedding for money. She’s hired by a man who doesn’t like his sister’s fiancé, & the games begin! An easy, sweet, fun read. 📚💙

This is the last book of the series & my favorite. I enjoyed having all four horsemen in this. Death/Thanatos was my favorite of the horsemen - it must be the wings. His relationship with Lazarus was beautiful & painful at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed this & recommend the entire series. 📚💙
Death - 5 stars. A skull surrounded by roses.

As the 3rd book of the series, I get it - each horseman finds a woman that makes him see humanity differently. But this one was different in the way the FMC interacted with her horseman. I enjoyed their back & forth. It was still predictable, but that won’t stop me from reading the last book. 📚💙

No one was likable. Everyone was unreliable. The twists weren’t that revealing, and since I didn’t like any of the characters, I didn’t care. It was a pretentious mess with way too many references to mosquitos. 📚💙

I know how a series like this goes. Four horsemen. Each one gets a book. We read about the one woman who changed each one’s views…eventually. This one wasn’t as good as the first book, but it was still a good read. It was a bit more grotesque in description and the spice was about the same. 📚💙

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I’m a sucker for any book that plays with time. She’s loving him in the past but not sure how she feels about him in the present. It makes for a great love story - I laughed & cried. Quick read that helped me with some of the heavier subject matter I’ve been reading. 📚💙

We could go back & forth about the internalized misogyny & strangeness, but after a few heavy reads in a row, this book hit perfectly for me. Interesting take on the apocalypse & the four horsemen from Revelations who bring about the end of the world. Just enough horrifying scenes & spice. 📚💙

This one didn’t capture my attention like The Midnight Library, still an excellent read. I found myself in tears more than once, following the MMC through the ups & downs of his life that he only gets to reflect on once he’s dead. There’s loss & regret but also happiness & love. Highly recommend! 📚💙

This was just okay. I mean it was good - we all know what millionaires can get away with. But I just didn’t care about the characters. I was just reading to see how things were going to progress. It was a little twisty - nothing too surprising. A bit of a slow build, then quick climax & the end. 📚💙

It’s hard to review this book and keep it spoiler free. I was thinking my way through the entire read, pretty sure I knew what was going on. I only ever partly had it right. I figured out the one twist but the second completely took me by surprise. 📚💙

I wasn’t expecting such a young book - to be late 20s, FMC was quite juvenile. The romance had zero chemistry & the ending was awful - over complicated for no reason. It equates to “it’s all a dream” & really pissed me off. I was interested in the first half of the book, so that got 2 stars. 📚💙

Larkin Lodge knows what it wants - the house attracts a certain type of people, those who are unhappy and have secrets to hide. The house has its own secrets and magic to wield. I really enjoyed this story. Creepy. Mysterious. Atmospheric. No one is innocent. #booksky📚💙

This book is a bit hard to review. A murder mystery in a library was too good not to read. The further I read, the more the plot kept doing “the most” & not in a good way. Too many things were too conveniently placed, & there were so many POVs that I didn’t feel close to any characters. #booksky📚💙

I found this hard to get into at first, with some of the flashbacks. But I got into the rhythm & writing & enjoyed it the further I got. I wasn’t expecting the end. It made me sad, but it was good for the story. I like books that take a few real events & places & make a beautiful story. #booksky📚💙

I was into the story at first. It seemed to get a bit far-fetched, but I was still hanging in. At about the 75% mark, I started having trouble suspending disbelief. And then the ending… I guess it was supposed to be some crazy twist, but it just fell flat for me. #booksky📚💙

I enjoyed this last installment of the Into Darkness series. This rom-com, morally grey, heavy spice story is just what I was in the mood for. While you can read these out of order, it is more fun to start with the first one, Lights Out. Happy spicy reading! #booksky📚💙

This book explores the very real topics of gentrification & redlining. I love fiction that incorporates real life. It did feel over the top at the end - the characters felt more like caricatures. Overall, I enjoyed this author & will read more of her work in the future. #booksky📚💙

This historical fiction is based on events of a witch trial in Innsbruck, Austria. A raw look at the torture & pain women endured at the hands of religious leaders while also honoring women’s wisdom. I deducted a bit because things wrapped up too quickly at the end. Still a great read! #booksky📚💙

The premise had promise but quickly turned ridiculous. I couldn’t relate to any of the characters' outrageous behaviors & rage read the last half. Just when I thought, “that's something a person might do," I was proven wrong. 2🌟 for the premise & those times I thought the story was getting better.

A masterpiece of crime fiction, so detailed & intricate. It was plot-driven & character-driven on many levels. Some things I figured out & others surprised me. The characters were believable, scenes were devastating, & plot detail didn’t slow anything down. Definite winner! #booksky📚💙

A group of writers trapped together & then they start dying. I think I enjoyed this bc it took tropes & cliches from different genres & combined them. It was also a strong critique of the publishing industry & what agents, editors, & writers are willing go through for a modicum of fame. #booksky📚💙

I wanted to like this book. It had everything I want - gods/goddesses, magic, lovers, battles, deceit. But it just didn’t do it for me. I wasn’t moved & didn’t click with any characters. The writing was absolutely beautiful & poetic, but it took away from the character development. #booksky📚💙

I liked the book fine. It was an easy and quick read, but I just didn’t care about the characters. So what should’ve been a great story - just wasn’t. It was told mostly from the POV of a rich family who buys their way out of everything. I would’ve liked the plot from Aubrey’s POV only. #booksky

As a cancer survivor, there is so much in this book that I can relate to. I also realized since I’ve been cancer free, some of my goals have been pushed aside. This book is heartbreaking but also inspiring. Yes, this is a book bore out of cancer & death, but it is also full of life & love! #booksky

Good, not great. I enjoyed the ghostly aspects. However, the dialogue btwn siblings felt like listening to 12 year olds rather than adults. The end just wasn’t satisfying. The wrap up at the end was completely unnecessary - I was waiting for a spooky “there could be more” & it never came. #booksky

There are no words for this glaring truth about government.
