Sigh, I've spent the last 25+ years in IT Engineering, Hardware, and Support roles. My job just reorg'd my team under a Dev-Ops and now I'm supposed to learn AI coding and Front End Development. My title hasnt changed and I still do the work Ive been doing, I just now have additional things to do.

Man, the Xennials are kinda running the table these days. So many revivals, returns, and reboots from our era. Even the clothes are returning.

Man, the "other social platform" is a hellscape as far as discourse is concerned. I genuinely checked in for like 15 minutes and felt my energy being drained from all the negative feedback loops.

If I had to choose one time in my life to return to, the era of Soul Calibur and Soul Calibur II, 1998 through 2005.

The console version of SCII features Link, Spawn, and Heihachi as playable guest characters for the Gamecube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 releases respectively. Additionally, Necrid was also introduced as a character created by Todd McFarlane, available on every listed platform.

23 years ago today, Soulcalibur II was released on the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 in JP. It was developed by Project Soul and published by Namco.

Pokemon Pokopia legit has our full attention. Every general issue I had with Animal Crossing NH is being addressed in a positive way. Just need real info on that shared island being server side hosted.

It's weird; I wanna acknowledge something good I've accomplished, but at the same time I don't want to be taken out of context like I'm trying to brag and make others feel jealous. Maybe it's just my age (pushing 49) or something but actively contributing to the social media space is daunting.

Itazan perfectly encapsulates what it's like to be a lifelong grappler enjoyer.

Itazan sadly describing dealing with grappler persecution.
"All I'm doing is....

"And he just can't get over it" implicating Nemo as the all-time greatest Zangief hater.

Man, I've skipped the past couple of Evo's because of vacation and getting married and stuff, and we were hoping to go this year. However its sounds like most of the people I'd go to hang with, including my brother, aren't going anymore. And now I'm on the fence since I don't go to compete.😞

Does anyone know of a organization or research group that would like a mature spotted orb weaver spider? I have one nested on my balcony, complete with an egg sac, and I'd like to relocate it rather than dispose of it. Southern California, Orange County, Buena Park area.

Grappler haters will never know the life changing euphoria of a clutched out victory with a perfectly spaced and well-timed command grab while under duress from an oppressive, projectile spamming, button mashing pixie. Not letting them play < Playing right into my hands.

I discovered that our new leadership in IT has mandated all of the Managers, AVPs, and Directors to read "Extreme Ownership" by Jocko Willis (iykyk) and that all hybrid workers secretly have keystroke and mouse activity trackers installed in our laptops, to be reviewed in productivity meetings. 🫠

The Animal Crossing update is absolutely what the game needed. Doesn't everything but it cuts down on inventory micromanagement so much. Only thing I wish was added was some level of specific turnip management. Well done @nintendousa.bsky.social

Changes sound interesting. Really glad about normalizing jab and giving Blitz a chance to fight. Also curious about the change to Darius's apprehend and the hinted retooling of Braum. Took a long break to handle family priorities, but I'm ready to lock in again.

At some point I realized that aging entails an ever-increasing load of cares and worries that at no point ever seems to decrease. Its not that things are bad, its that my list of concerns has grown considerably just by virtue of being an adult.

As the oldest of four sons of a man from rural northern Mississippi, strength of arm was a value instilled in me at an early age. However, sometimes I just gotta get my style on. - Astaroth - Zangief - Jack (Tekken series) - Eddy Gordo - Omega Red

As the new year approaches I'm really going to keep my intents basic and simple. - Drop the happy relationship weight (80lbs 🤦) - Regularly practice 2XKO, with intent and planning. - Roll credits on a single player game a month, preferably from my extensive backlog.

2026 starts our resurrection arc. Were killing the distraction scrolling, the protracted attention spans, the dopamine economy, the bait wars, the constant attacks on self esteem and personal self worth, and the endless stream of negative energy. Gotta walk away from it all to find our way again.

Got invited to a 2XKO event at Riot HQ. Awesome campus, awesome people. Truly a lifestyle embedded in the culture there. Had a great time hanging out and pressing some buttons. Got some advice from the devs on my team comp and playstyle and how to evolve my team without compromising my core values.

I've concluded that being severely overweight sucks, so I've been working out and managing my intake a lot better these days. Minor but consistent results so far, exactly as it should be. My focus is to maintain this energy through the holidays. Lost 80lbs before, will do it again permanently.

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 18/10/2025

Just watched a video of Ahri/Yasuo double down fuse, performing a ToD combo on Ekko off of a grounded parry. 48 hits. Dead. Ahri did two supers during the combo, tagged, and Yasuo chained two supers after tagging in. Starting to think one super per character per combo should be a thing.

I have 13 security updates to do on my phone. One for each month I'm behind. I'm halfway done any my whole interface looks different. Went from 6.1 to 7.0 UI version and now I need to relearn my phone. 😞

000

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 17/10/2025

Now that I'm up in the diamond ranks, the Teemo army is really grinding my gears. Ekko is ever present as well so I'm really gonna be forced to switch up my team. Will I turn my back on a lifetime of big bodies and choose Ekko or Yasuo? Will I return to Illaoi? Or should I wait for new champs? TBD.

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 12/10/2025

Watching #2XKO being played at high level at #EvoFrance2025 and seeing elite pros struggle with the mixups and seeing random stray hits decide a full game makes me feel much better about my gameplay. Getting blown up or totally steamrolling is just the game. I kinda love it.

000

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Between the patch notes, system changes, and Warwick releasing in parallel with Teemo, I can say with confidence that the team for 2XKO is firing on all cylinders. The timing is kinda perfect for the open beta. You can bet your ass I'll be a battlepass and skin purchaser. Effort should be rewarded.

000

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 04/10/2025

Lowkey kinda glad Riot accidently leaked the next 2XKO character after Teemo. The thought of having to fight a Jinx/Teemo team while using my Darius/Blitz team was bringing me down. Gives me something to look forward to.

010

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 01/10/2025

Doesn't mean much but I managed to climb the ranks a bit before the big reset.

010

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 21/09/2025

I keep telling my self Illaoi is not a natural fit for my playstyle yet keep trying to force it to work. Not only that she also has low synergy with Darius, my actual natural fit character. Time to face reality and join the Blitzkrank army.

010

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 20/09/2025

I see stuff like this and I'm reminded of two things: - Most people have seriously trash takes. - I've been playing fighting games longer than most of these people have been breathing air.

020

Caramel Jenkins @carameljenkins.bsky.social · 11/09/2025

I'm using 2XKO as a chance for me to really learn a fighting game again. I haven't bonded with a fighting game since Soul Calibur 2, however when I played the alpha lab, I found myself falling deep into this game. At 48 years old I'm curious to see how much I can maintain that type of energy.
