I have a terrible sense of direction not helped by getting lost so often and so badly that I never drove a route the same way twice until about 30 times in. I used to do multiple practice drives for high stakes things like jobs interview to make sure I could get there. GPS is a godsend.

I’m in Boston, there is no logic to street layouts, few signs & drivers are not patient or kind. I traveled w paper maps & pulled over lots. Sometimes I had to go into police/fire/gas stations to ask what town I was in (lotta streets named Adams or Kennedy or Washington) to use the paper maps.

Takes me an hour to drive the 3 miles from my place in Somerville to downtown at rush hour. Not sure they do these any more, but there used to be rush hour commuting races: T vs car vs bike vs runner. Car always lost, bike always won. But it’s dangerous on a bike, I am much too chicken

I include prompts as part of my documentation, imo it’s like including links to your data sources/footnotes/etc (Like what if someone - Future Me - needs to recreate the data set? They need the info to do that! With Ai, that info is the prompt.)

Omg he’s so adorbs. I hope work stops being exhausting soon-ish. New jobs are always tiring, *and* being among people is tiring but you get used to it.(🤞) I’m wfh since the pandemic, & now when I go into the office, it’s draining, even though it’s the same job and same office as before the plague.

Good luck, I normally get both at once bc I have a big reaction and lose the next day after getting either, so I figure I might as well just have one doubly uncomfortable day. Hospital seems like a good place to lie around and feel blah in though!

I think production tools have made polishing a song really easy, and now that approach is pretty ubiquitous. IMO a lot of it ends up polished but bland - the polish process takes the friction out of it for listener but also often removes the individuality.

I skipped a boot camp class this morning bc exhausted BUT I jumped rope for 3 minutes instead (always humbling how quickly I’m smoked when jumping rope). I’m proud of myself for doing even a v. small thing to get the happy brain chemicals.

I had a college professor who argued that Mr Woodhouse was the real villian in Emma. (I still don’t agree but what a fun idea) And IIRC, Austen said of Emma in a letter to her sister that “no one but me will like her much” (paraphrased) - also interesting bc I agree Emma is endearing

cameras on the duo seem meh too. They all start at half a pound (~250 g) That’s so heavy that I can’t carry one in a pocket when going for a run - they drag my leggings or shorts down. Ok, that’s what the watch is for but I want to carry LESS. The weight also ruins the lines on most clothing.

Yeah. I don’t need or want an app to turn on/off my lights/AC/stove etc. I just want a simple physical switch/button/etc. 1) i already waste too much time on my phone 2) appliances w/ chips & a motherboard tend to be harder & more expensive/specialized to fix than simpler ones. Burn it all down.
