In this week's #GhibliSpotlight, we've finally reached Laputa: Castle in the Sky (天空の城ラピュタ), the first official Studio Ghibli feature film! Directed by Miyazaki Hayao, it premiered in Japan on 2 August 1986. 🧵 [1/10]

"Hello, Wazowski. Fun filled evening planned for tonight?" "Well, as a matter of fact---" "And I'm sure you filed your paperwork correctly...for once." "Your stunned silence is very reassuring."

Obviously animation is cinema ppl are very annoying I agree but the animation is cinema crowd prob is going to the movie but that doesn’t mean good box office cuz that’s like a clear vocal minority they’re a very loud annoying minority but still. The cause of the not so great box office is (1/2)

Car10s @car10s3306.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

Everybody talking about the fans of Mario being annoying but why do ppl act like the ppl who shit on the Mario movies and everyone who likes them all the time aren’t equally as annoying I legit don’t see how they’re any better.

GREAT MOVIE! Could have used an extra 20-30 minutes, but I enjoyed it a lot. The lore they dropped was kind of crazy 👀 IF THEY DID NOT LEAK FOX BEING IN THE MOVIE, THE WHOLE CROWD WOULD HAVE ERUPTED. But his introduction was hilarious. Looking forward to THAT movie!

Loved hoppers There’s a scene involving this character that might be the funniest joke in Pixar history

Car10s @car10s3306.bsky.social · 15/02/2026

I’m seeing like Twitter overreact and say ppl don’t want originals cuz this movie is flopping which is puzzling me cuz like… it’s not flopping. It already made half its budget back it’ll be fine. Not every movie needs half a billion to be a success.

Wait, hold on, so you’re telling me, that I called out a friend of mine over a year ago about lying about there opinion about a movie, they made me look like the bad guy, and now they rewatch the movie say it’s good all of a sudden and edit there old log with a tag saying they lied. Are you serious

"You had a big fall. You must not be thinking straight." "No, for the first time, I am thinking straight. I am not a space ranger. I'm just a toy, a stupid, insignificant toy!" "You are Andy's toy! You are HIS toy!" "But why would Andy want me?" Whoo boy. These lines say quite a lot.

Sonic 3 is so easily the best of the 3 that it’s insane. The movie is amazing, great characters, well written the acting is great, Keanu kills it. It’s great for fans and non fans just a great time all around.

Don’t keep around a friend that’s only there to drag you down. Don’t keep around someone who will just treat you like you’re below them just for liking something others don’t. Idc what you like, but if someone constantly just makes you feel uncomfortable then well, leave em.
