Behemoth! was my last NYFF press screening of the year. the central gag of hacky hollywood film scores seeming to reframe and add drama to the memories of an otherwise passive protagonist is fun and sharp. arrives at some v touching passages but needed a little more edge, it's almost too pleasant

Obsession is obviously a horror-comedy. Widow's Bay is kind of "comedy flavored" but the critical difference is that it has no jokes and no comedic perspective.
