Lanterns adjacent fun fact — Before there were Green and White Martians, the Burning Martians were a race of conquerors. The Guardians split them in two, and give them their fear/weakness to fire. So while the Guardians aren't the reason J'onn J'onzz is a Manhunter, they are the reason he's green.

I've had a lot of mixed feelings about Strange New Worlds lately, but the "I've never heard anything about dad commanding a starship" joke makes my brain very happy. It's up there with Agent Gibbs saying that Ducky looked like Ilya Kuryakin when he was younger for me.

I finished Zero Company today. A few technical hiccups here and there, but man... what a game, and more importantly what a story. I wish it was longer: I'm not ready to say goodbye to this version of my squad yet. Looking forward to a more efficient/effective run now I know how everything works.

I know we're all (rightly) ragging on those Space Force uniforms, but as any Stargate fan will be able to tell you, the "rip off Starfleet logo" was introduced for the Air Force Space Command back in 1982, so you're a little late to the party with that particular criticism.

Every time we get another novelty episode of Strange New Worlds, I keep thinking about Syndrome from The Incredibles. I have individual grumbles about each episode too, but mostly I just miss when Strange New Worlds took itself seriously. This cast deserves better than what they've been given.

A lot of discourse about Lanterns this week, but something I've not seen said much: being abducted by aliens is scary for humans. We're a pre-Warp culture. Aliens are the stuff of conspiracies and horror stories. Of course most people are afraid: they don't know what the heck is happening.
