Dispatch — The animation, the banter, the OST... it's all so *fun*, and the narrative never feels *bleak* like so much contemporary superhero media. Feels like a western answer to the shounen genre (but hilariously more raunchy), I DON'T KNOW, it scratches every itch in my brain.

Dying Light — The parkour feels so good and early game is genuinely terrifying. The campaign might be predictable but the side quests, god, I loved the side quests. Easily my favorite zombie apocalypse game ever (and I beat TLOU).

Baten Kaitos — The dub was notoriously bad, and I hate anything that has a time limit aspect, but this game was so much fun (and probably signaled my future enjoyment of Slay the Spire). What a funky JRPG.

Dragon Age: Inquisition — In case people don't remember, DAI was one of the very first mainstream titles to feature a transman. (Yes, they handled it with the delicacy of a sledgehammer, but we were making history.) I love me some dark fantasy political intrigue. gobble that shit up 🤤

Against the Storm — RTS should not work in the context of a roguelike but this game is *so fucking good*. If you like strategy games and/or resource management, listen, you have to play this immediately. it is so dangerous whenever I open this game LMAO

Lies of P — the Soulslike for the girlies. I'm still salty that Overture takes place after my boy is DEAD, like, what even is the point! Nah, but the world-building is aces and when you finally beat that boss you can't parry against for shit? i'm just a littol guy who likes to tell silly lies 🙆🏻

Speaking of games that had me hooked, I literally marathoned 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for twenty hours straight because I knew if I did not finish the story in one sitting, I'd look up spoilers on TvTropes like an idiot. Passing out at 8am was an adventure :) hashtag miura bes boi

Tales of Vesperia has the distinction of being the first game I ever clocked triple digits on. I remember getting it for my birthday in high school and no lifing that shit for three days straight. Then I played it co-op with a friend. Suddenly I had 200 hours on my save file, trying to 100% it.
