I can’t express how proud I feel when I see these #NorthernRiversWatershedInitiative updates. I didn’t waste my 9 years on Council. Adopting #NaturalFloodMitigation is our best chance to protect communities & our river in one of the most flood prone catchments in Australia.

Describing the first revegetation project taken under the Northern Rivers Watershed Initiative at Boatharbour (upstream from Lismore).

Rocks, woody debris, plants and fencing cattle out makes a huge difference.

We have had our first successful nest for the season in Evans Head two mornings ago! This nest was from a loggerhead turtle. We can hopefully expect this lady to lay another clutch of eggs in the coming weeks. Ph 0447 877 149 to report! 📸 Leann Spencer

From the pattern in the sand we see that it uses alternate front flippers to crawl. That’s what shows it’s a Loggerhead turtle.
