Wir schauen durch die geöffnete Tür eines Holzhäuschens mit Herztür. Der Deckel für die Öffnung lehnt an der Rückwand, rechts hängt an einem krummen Nagel zurechtgeschnittenes Zeitungspapier. Oben rechts an der Decke befindet sich ein Spinnennetz. Das Häuschen steht neben einem Ginkobaum, dessen stinkende Früchte gerade reifen. Unter dem Baum, an das Häuschen gelehnt, sitzt ein kleines Stinktier, das in dem Roman „Das Parfüm“ von Patrick Süskind liest. Den Rand der Zeichnung zieren Aasblumen und Stinkmorcheln.

An der unteren Bildkante versucht sich ein in Panik Schreiender aus einem Labyrinth zu retten. Dabei krallt er sich mit der rechten Hand am Bildrand fest, während er mit der linken Hilfe suchend winkt. Der Hintergrund ist vollkommen mit dem Labyrinth ausgefüllt. Aus einer dunklen Ecke glotzt ein einzelner Augapfel den Betrachter an und ein Gerippe hält nach seinem Opfer Ausschau.
