Still digging up the dead for today's Hallowmemes.

The "Spider-Man Pointing" meme, but one of the Spideys is now MacReady from 'The Thing' (1982) and the other one is Childs, also from 'The Thing'. These gentlemen clearly have understandable trust issues. I've been meaning to redo Childs' body warmer for years, (because it looks like shit), but still haven't got around to it, so I can only apologise for my tardy behaviour.

The panel on the right usually has Jack Nicholson's leering mug, peering through the hole he's chopped in the door, but the face is now that of Smudge the cat, from the "Woman Yelling At A Cat" meme. The right panel, which usually shows Shelley Duvall clutching a large knife and screaming is now the yelling woman. I was going to swap the axe coming through the door in this panel for a cat's paw, but couldn't be arsed.

The "Two Buttons" meme. The top panel shows a hand hovering over two large red buttons. The first is labelled "NORMAL" and the second is labelled "ABNORMAL". The bottom panel has Igor (pronounced "Ee-gor") from "Young Frankenstein" (1974) mopping his fevered brow as he attempts to make the right decision, which we already know he won't.

The "This Is Fine" meme, but the dog has had all of its skin removed. On the table next to him is a Lament Configuration puzzle box. He seems quite happy with his current condition because he's saying "THIS IS FINE" with a smile on his lipless mouth.

Today's Hallowmemes are a celebration of "The Evil Dead" which had its premiere at the Redford Theatre on this day in 1981.

The "They Don't Know" meme. The wording reads "They don't know that my wife became possessed by a Kandarian demon and that I buried her in the earthen floor of the fruit cellar." There's a slightly raised trapdoor in the middle of the floor, showing said Kandarian demon reaching a hand out while looking mightily pissed off. The dancers in the rest of the image seem blissfully unaware.

The "Peter Parker Reading A Book" meme, but Pete is now Ash Williams. The large panel on the left shows him looking through the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis - AKA The Book of The Dead. There are two smaller panels on the right hand side. The top right panel shows the view over Ash's shoulder as he uses his chainsaw hand to point out some ancient, cursed text. The bottom right panel shows a closeup of Ash - now a Deadite - looking mildly surprised that reading from something called The Book of The Dead might not be the best idea.

The "Pointing Leo" meme, but Leo is now the Deadite version of Ash Williams. His medallion has been swapped for the fuck ugly magnifying glass necklace his girlfriend pretended to love.

The "Golden Ticket" meme which shows Charlie Bucket looking excited as he holds up a winning golden ticket for a trip to Willy Wonka's Murder Emporium, but the golden ticket is now a page from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis from "The Evil Dead" (1981), and l'il Chuck is now a Deadite.

The "Distracted Boyfriend" meme, but the boyfriend is now Jack Burton from "Big Trouble in Little China (1986). His girlfriend is a peeved-looking Gracie Law and the object of Jack's undivided attention is his truck, The Pork Chop Express, because if that film taught me anything, it was that Jack loves his truck more than anything else on God's green Earth, and that includes Kim Cattrall.

The "Change My Mind" meme which shows some smug know-it-all sitting behind a table and sipping a coffee as he challenges you to change his mind on a certain subject. He's now a possessed Regan MacNeil from "The Exorcist" (1973) and the sign reads: "YOUR MOTHER SUCKS COCKS IN HELL. CHANGE MY MIND". Good luck with that.

The 4 panel Drake meme, but Drake is now a fully vamped Jerry Dandridge from "Fright Night" (1985). Jerry's all smiles in the top left panel as he points at the cover for R.E.M.s "Losing My Religion" in the top right panel. In the bottom left panel, he's turning away in fear from the cover for George Michael's "Faith" in the bottom right panel.

The "C'mon, Do Something... " meme which shows a stick figure holding a stick and looking down at something - in this case, it's a crashed meteorite sitting in a tiny crater. The next panel shows the same stick figure, but the meteorite has now cracked in two and there's a small pink blob climbing its way up the man's stick. The 3rd panel shows a now much larger pink blob completely covering the top half of the stick man. The 4th panel shows an even bigger pink blob exiting the panel. The stick man has been absorbed. Nothing but his stick remains.

The two panel "Quiz Kid/Note Passing" meme. The top panel shows a kid passing a note to the kid on the desk in front of him. It's fair to say I've probably abandoned any idea of making a new Hallowmeme for every day in October, so here's another one from the past. Might need a click to expand it.

The 4 panel Drake meme, except this one lays out across 8 panels. The 1st panel shows someone wearing a Silver Shamrock pumpkin mask (from "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch") while pointing at the flashing pumpkin from the Silver Shamrock advert in panel 2. Another day of decorating, so here's a Hallowmeme from a few years back.

The 3 panel "Bike Fall" meme which shows a cartoon man on a bicycle riding down the road, except the 1st panel now shows the man riding along a desert road, whistling a loud tune. The 2nd panel (which usually shows him jamming a stick into the front wheel of his own bike) now has the man firmly clamped in the jaws of the graboid ("Tremors") that's just erupted through the ground beneath him, sending his bike flying. The 3rd panel, which is usually a picture of the man lying on the grass next to his fallen bike as he clutches at his knee, pondering how such a thing could have happened, now shows a fallen bike, half-in, half-out of the road. The rider is nowhere to be seen, but there is a big fuck off hole in the road where the monster dragged him to his doom. There are bloodied finger trails across the road that take a sharp downward turn into the creature's burrow. Lad's done.

'Star Wars: Galactic Racer' has capably filled the Wipeout-shaped hole in my life. From the early *DINK-DINK* of bouncing off of absolutely everything before exploding, to the smooth ride when you finally figure out the controls and become as one with your vehicle. Kudos to all involved.

No time to make a Hallowmeme, today, so here's one from last year.

The 3 panel "Moe Kicking Barney Out" meme, but Moe is now Dr. Loomis from the "Halloween" movies and Barney is now Michael Myers. The top panel shows Loomis hoiking Michael out of the front door of the bar. The middle panel has a narrow-eyed Loomis dusting his hands off as he stands in the bar doorway. In the bottom panel, Loomis is still standing in the doorway with his hands on his hips. Behind him, standing at the bar, is the inevitable figure of Michael Myers.

Talking Pictures TV are showing "The Beast Must Die" at 21.05, tonight. Despite the laughably shonky beast, it's still a decent horror. And its concept of a big-game hunter summoning a group of strangers to his island, in order to hunt whichever one turns out to a werewolf, is long overdue a remake.

Wealthy big-game hunter Tom Newcliffe (Calvin Lockhart) rocking a black leather jumpsuit with a gun in his hand. There's a burnt-out helicopter behind him, but if you think that's going to put a dent in Tom's day, then think again, brother, 'cos this cat's a stone-cold killer!

I remember enjoying the story, but I'm not sure if they can stretch it out to 6 episodes (if it actually gets made). I suppose they could make a bigger feature of Crouch End itself, along with its freaky inhabitants and unusual history.
