I went to the CD shop today to get the new Carly Rae Jepsen CD and walked out with Taeyong's album and Twice's 6th Japanese album as well. Then I was going to wander/have lunch but got hit with the crushing desire to just GO HOME and so that happened.

The CBC keeps getting funding cuts so I get why they joined the EBU. Life is wild.

I feel bad for getting annoyed that people are talking around me while I am trying to read but it's only negativity and I would like people to stop.

Not me making a playlist to save everyone in my car from the rotation of languages and making one that is just English and French. Not everyone handles the jumps between English-French-Polish-Greek-Romanian-Thai-Japanese-Korean-Chinese well I have realized.

Actual question I have re: Heated Rivalry. The annual family trips. They're usually not visiting your divisional cities, right? For some insane reason I cannot remember right now 😂 But how awkward would that be for Ilya and Shane. (There are logistics I'm like ??? for in the show but let slide.)

Something I really liked about the Spengler Cup coverage today is that the reviews were televised and we could hear what the refs were saying. Also, love the double line for goals. The barn in Davos is also stunning and I would love to go some day.

The broadcast is being very specific with calling the "USA" team "US Selects" or w/e but that's probably because less than 60% of the team is actually a US citizen.

There is a reference to something from over 100 years ago in Zootopia 2 and yeah it is a funny joke but I also might have been the only one that caught it in the theatre OR no one thought it was that funny.

"I love that when someone wants to refer to someone as insane they put up a picture of me in front of the corkboard. Like, that's one of the best things that's ever happened to me in life."

My brain is absolutely useless today. Anyway, hockey tonight on the worst platform b/c my computer at home doesn't have two screens. I guess I'll read while I watch. Me watching hockey/sports on TV: multitasking Me AT the game: so fucking locked in I don't check my phone except at intermission

My "idol type" is clearly overdramatic, ridiculous people. Pls see my fave in Twice (look, I'm going to their concert, I had to research) for an example.

And I've riled myself up and want to go hide in a corner and just have a cry. I'm so tired. I'm especially tired of the fact I constantly find myself in situations where I have to put my own feelings aside. Constantly. All 36 years of this.

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

Like, she absolutely threw the weirdest fit being like "I have red hair, I should be Ginger" and like okay? Did it really matter that much??? But apparently so, and she wouldn't let it go so I had to switch to be Scary. Which was fine, I absolutely adored all of the members. THE FUCKING TANTRUM THO.

000

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

What is the XSG98? Back in elementary school, I was in a split class, which meant two grades to one teacher/class. For the X'mas concert, my class decided we would do a Spice Girls parody. The class voted roles based on ability and I got voted as Ginger. THE ONE GINGER IN THE CLASS THREW A FIT. TBC

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

lol what they don't know is that when we were doing a project technically together a few years back, I actually let them have what they wanted because I didn't want a repeat of the X'mas Spice Girls incident of 1998. Which, had I actually stated my interest from the start would have happened.

Like, look, I know I have ~opinions~ on things but, like, I'm also not willing to yuck anyone's yum in the long term? I'm an asshole and perfectly fine with that. I also love mocking things I love, so 🤷‍♀️

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

I'd honestly be less annoyed about this if I (a) wasn't currently annoyed with life because oh my god I hate everything irl right now and being a weirdo fujoshi/fangirl/weeb is all I can do to feel good rn, and (b) if they would stop acting like I should care they don't like it anymore.

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

I continue to wonder why this person continues to constantly inform me they don't like a thing anymore. Like, cool story, bro? I don't actually care? This is about the fact that JCD is TECHNICALLY back. But Starto something something countdown is the name now.

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 07/12/2025

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

I also want more of the Cat Who books because those are my favourite cozy mystery books.

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

You know what childhood favourites I have all of? The Silverwing series and the Chronicles of Faerie and I recommend both for young kids. What kid doesn't want to read a book about bat hell (Firewing)?

100

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

Anyway, I'm creating a catalogue of books I own. So far I'm in the 40s... This is nowhere near all the books I own. I already started a manga and light novel catalogue (I'm keeping them separate for a reason).

110

CaptainDats @captaindats.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

lmao I'm considering going back out because there is a book sale table somewhere tonight, but I won't. I am lazy. fr though, I'm constantly looking for very specific older books from my childhood. Tamora Pierce books. the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patrica C. Wrede. Books!
