Opus 4.8 can’t reliably identify my active git branch and coding is supposed to be SOLVED. I’m gonna put my money on the 90%.
A screenshot of a quote tweet between two AI developers.

The original: “The people building Al earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear"

The tweet from the quoter: “Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe Al could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.”

Yes, absolutely! The title "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" clearly indicates that apes are central to the film.

A screenshot of text from the article that says…

At the storefront event, a man waiting outside told me he'd booked an appointment for 11:30 but noted he was an hour early and wasn't allowed to come inside yet. He was visiting from Poland and said his boss had attended the party the night before and was "super hyped" about the orb concept. "I don't know if it's gonna be like a worldwide revolution, but I just want to be on the wave," he said.

I wonder if there is a way to quantify the impact of nostalgia on Letterboxd scores? Specifically, I’m trying to understand the shift in scores for Star Wars movies shared in this Reddit post. Maybe a bunch of millennials joined Letterboxd between 2021 and 2023? www.reddit.com/r/Letterboxd...
A graphic showing how Letterboxd ratings of the 9 main Star Wars movies have changed over time. Notably, it shows episodes 1-3 rising by roughly ½ of a star from 2021-2025 and episodes 4-6 dropping by roughly ½ of a star in the same time period.

I went down a rabbit hole figuring out whether Robert H. Lurie (namesake of the children’s hospital in Chicago) is related to Jeffrey Lurie (owner of the Eagles). I gave up for a variety of reasons, but I think I found my style icon in Robert H Lurie?
