and yet, when i positioned myself much further back, the whole painting was revealed to me. i do not think that is intentional, but it forced me to look at it from a new perspective. and i liked it

this was a moving piece of art for me. the description talked about street performers in france, and the painting being based on a real life tragedy among the houseless.

ended my time at the DAM in the 19th century art exhibit. wished i had more time to wander. the 19th century art in the exhibit was seriously impressive. i’ve attached one of the pieces i was looking at in particular, and how incredibly detailed it is...

wow, after reading the write up, i’ve come to the conclusion that this piece is about generational trauma. i attached a photo of the youngest child, with its eyes wide open, compared to the generations before it, with eyes shut. i believe this represents a change in the lineage.

attached is a photo of the piece titled “the last Indian market” first of all, i have taken so many pieces of art here and included them in my skeets. i find it so necessary for context with some of these, and also, because they’re amazing #ConArtInSitu

in the alley behind my house, i made a connection. attached in this photo is a metal can, completely flattened.

funnily enough, this photo was displayed in the lobby of the museum, telling visitors what is on the lower floor. this is, what i can only assume to be, the remnants of Collins’ erasings

i attached a comment that stood out to me in particular. “is it my youth that i miss, or is it that time in my life? oh, time that flows endlessly, please slow down a little…” made furrow my brow in empathy

i had to look up what a “pink pearl” eraser was, and was immediately brought back to elementary school (photo attached)

“in ‘The Deluge,’ meaning endures not through stability but through movement: a current that carries the remnants of what history cannot let go.” to me, that is contemporary.
