this is how I tried to convey to my backers why the book took longer than anticipated to arrive. (the odyssey of new tariffs, fees, regulations, shipments through the seas of logistics and islands of administrative nightmare)
still from the movie odyssey showing Odysseus with his men arriving on an island, except his face is the cover of my book Weird, Whimsy & Wonder.

How about some more art reveal? This time a fantastic autumnal scene at golden hour by Rafael R. Sinnott. Check this out!

Been using it to journal in a cipher I developed. Quite a meditative activity. Recommended.
Photo of a grid paper page with a lot of squiggly lines that look like gibberish, but are actually a cipher.

Now that was fun! They decided that their settlement is a tipped-over grandfather clock! 🕰️🐭 One of them created a pub using part of the clock face as a gambling table 😄 They started investing in a communal garden and preparing for the Midsummer Festival 🎊 It's working, y'all! 🌟
Picture of a table with character sheets and a settlement sheet. Two players are working on index cards, drawing their favorite places on the mouse settlement. We see pens, asset cards, and smartphones laying around.Picture of one of the players drawing a communal kitchen inside a grandfather clock on an index card.

Time to playtest this bad boy! Let's see what my players come up with Do their mice live in a rusted tractor under a willow tree? A cow skeleton with platforms made of tin lids? We'll find out!

Heard you like some base-building to go with your TTRPG? 👀 Current WIP of Mausworn's Settlement Sheet: Build your home, trade your wares, improve your community, endure the seasons 🐭🍂
Current draft for Mausworn's settlement sheet.

The sheet contains three tracks for shelter, hope, and fortune; a space for a market; a season tracker; a list of ongoing endeavors; a space to upgrade it with assets.

New art reveal for Mausworn 🐭 This piece was made by the amazing João Garin Ain't that awesome?? 🤩

First strong hit with a match in Mausworn history! After nearly being trampled by a stampede of hogs, the party took refuge in a hollow beneath a rock. The Storyweaver shared a tale so moving it lifted the spirits of every mouse!

Just learned that a peculiar geological feature (fajã) that names many places here in Madeira is quite common in this part of the world (Azores, Canary Islands...) They look so cool, and are created from collapsing cliffs or lava flows! Take notes, worldbuilders! 😊

And so it begins 🐭⚔️ Can't believe I'm finally playing this game!!! (And my experiment of using blu tack to attach item tokens to the inventory was a huge success)

First character creation playtest session of Mausworn coming up later today. Been cutting and sleeving these bad boys for a while now. And loving every second of it. (I wish I already had the final icons for each asset, but we make do)

Three years ago I tweeted this. Never got to tackle the challenge; way beyond my skillset. Not saying that this is it, but I am so glad a game sorta like this exists now, and it is so unapologetically ambitious. And well made.
I feel like creating a tactical story building game.

I want the crunch of an euro board game and the narrative depth and implications of The Quiet Year or For The Queen.

Am I out of the line?

Fun fact: the cover art started as a grotesque amalgamation of photos that I bashed together and then hand drew over! (Marked as graphic media because it’s a bit unnerving I guess 😄)
A horrid mashup of an anglerfish, two frogs, a star nosed mole, a naked mole and a tongue. Also a dude with a torch.

Sent this sketch to an artist I commissioned for Mausworn. Can't express how excited I am to see the final result 😊

I mean, isn't it brilliant? I love how they captured the scavenger nature of the Mausworn, with nature reclaiming the scraps of humankind. Look at this mouse fella, I love him! And now I have a game with a custom Penflower Ink piece of art. A dream come true! 6/

I’m feeling a bit disheartened by people thinking my cover art was made with AI. I get it. It looks a bit generic, but this is due to my limited set of skills. So I’m making the PSD files available for anyone to download and scrutinize. 1/

Yes! I do everything in Canva. As RP said, spreads or text flow are not supported. My way to do it is when I have a illustration that I want to flow from one page to the other, I lay it out on the left page, then paste it on the right page, and crop the other half, aligning it to the left.

Currently working on the "Area Builder" for Mausworn. This is how you come up with a "room" and its contents when delving ruins with your mouse. Loved this result: - An indifferent gecko basking on a rusted bracket inside an engine block, surrounded by the scattered remains of its insect meals.

Why have a random encounter table when you can have a d100 x 8 EVENT BUILDER!!! Jokes aside, this started as an ad hoc table to help me visualize the structure of encounters in Mausworn. But I think it might end up in the game 👀🐭

I’m tempted to reply. Mainly because I have a total of zero titles on Amazon.
An email that reads:

Hello Esteemed Author,

While reviewing fantasy titles listed on Amazon, your book surfaced for a reason that isn’t typical.

This isn’t about prose quality or promotional activity, and I’m not reaching out to offer a service. It concerns how the book is positioned relative to the stage it appears to be in.

Rather than assume intent, I wanted to ask one question first.

Would you be open to hearing the observation?

Kind regards,
Manuscript Structure Analyst
