I have yet to finish Stygian, was a little longer than anticipated with still more content & updates to come, but I can recommend it. I think in general I would love to see more Survival Horror RPGs. PLEASE BRING BACK PARASITE EVE!!!

For week two of Horrortober I revisited Bioshock as well as checked out Stygian: Outer Gods. Bioshock is always a fun game to revisit, can never get tired of that wrench. Stygian is a game that surprised me. Being in EA it has it's issues but it does well mixing survival horror and RPG elements.

Seeing people being shocked that that the game based on the BDSM inspired erotic horror has BDSM erotic horror in it is really funny.

It felt short and the events were very sudden but that makes sense as it's a one shot prequel for the movie Doku Musume (which I was unaware of, will now need to watch it). Really enjoyed the art style and the atmosphere it drew.

Just finished reading Toxic Daughter: Chi Chan. Picked it up because the cover and synopsis seemed interesting but was otherwise unfamiliar with Shuzo Oshimi's work; although, after reading this, I will certainly look into his other works.

CannoliSenpai @cannolisenpai.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Senara started off promising but it suffered a bit with the "unkillable" enemies, janky AI and being hit through walls all while trying to force you to stealth around. The game quickly grew a bit frustrating by the end. Had it not relied on stealth it would have been more enjoyable imo.

CannoliSenpai @cannolisenpai.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

First two days of Oceanic Horror October I played The Shore as well as Senara The Sacrament. The Shore was fun! Wish the entire game was like the opening segment with more mystery and exploration but overall it was a fun experience. Atmosphere and visuals were on point.

Recently watched Upgrade and it was a lot of fun. This was recommended to me by a friend and from their description I didn't expect this movie to be as comedic as it was but it landed well. Fun movie.

Last night, I watched Ghost In The Shell in theaters for its 30th anniversary showing. Still one of my favorite films, and anime, to date. Being able to watch the opening sequence on the big screen alone made it a worthwhile experience.

Today I watched Skinamarink. This was certainly not a movie for me. It felt as if a 5 minute analog horror short got drawn out for 1h 40m. There were a few cool shots but the audio was all over the place and a lot of nothing happening which, for me, really didn't build tension.

010

CannoliSenpai @cannolisenpai.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

What I didn't love: - Runbacks (I don't mind these but holding forward on the stick for 40s is not riveting) - Balancing - Final Boss (so many cool bosses that this felt like a disappointment by comparison)

000

CannoliSenpai @cannolisenpai.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

What I loved: - Build variety (shells, abilities, weapons, tarstones) - Art direction - OST - Overall combat feel - Genessa 💜

CannoliSenpai @cannolisenpai.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Rolled credits on Mortal Shell 2 and overall it was a very enjoyable game, an absolute improvement over the first. While the game certainly had its issues, the amount of fun I had vastly overshadowed the little frustration that happened due to jank, design choices or bugs.
