This weekend I was granted life membership in Auckland Pride, only the third person to be recognised like this. I'm honoured, but I was recognised for being one prominent spokesperson for the radical vision of what Pride could be - not because I'm an individual, but because I'm part of a collective.

I'm a teacher at a university (albeit a precarious one) and my partner is a social worker. I just did the tax calculators for the National Party and Green Party, and despite being pretty middle class, the Greens would give us $13,000 more to National's $4,000 while also implementing a wealth tax.
