I like to think the reason Anya has a tattoo is because she saw Higgins very old faded ones from from his pre war era and convinced him eventually to let her get one! Dangerous asf and liable to infection but she survived the stick and poke with a old stimpack needle and likely lead based 'ink'

On November 10, the Fitzgerald became trapped in a howling November storm, approximately 15 miles from Whitefish Bay, Ontario. Waves 30 feet high battered her hull with 90mph winds threatening to roll her over. She then disappeared from radar, going down with all 29 hands. There were no survivors.
