Last year I asked for more blitzop and boy howdy! I got it! For this year I shall just wish for things to get better.

Blitzop is now Blitzwing's 2nd most popular ship on ao3 and I am happy.
Also I'm 23 now, it's my birthday

I just really love the story and how it tackles its themes and characters! It's like a soothing balm of hope every time Coco gets through another trial, it's comforting knowing that even faced with unbeatable odds you can face it together :] (The word count on this site is my enemy)

110

Candlelight7 [Insert 18+ emoji] @candlelight7.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

It's why I personally think the world building is exactly what it needs to be for the story to function. The enforced stagnation among the witches is contrasted by the rapid evolution of the brimhats, how ignorance is used as a way to control those outside the know and avoid accountability.

100

Candlelight7 [Insert 18+ emoji] @candlelight7.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

We both have examples of a disabled character who is strongly against healing magic and one who is strongly for. We see the reasons magic used on bodies is forbidden and then we see our protagonists think around the limitations given to them and how to break through them!

100

Candlelight7 [Insert 18+ emoji] @candlelight7.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Well it's not just the message, it's basically the heart of everything. If you take any aspect of the story and examine it you will see how it ties back to something else. Like this is the one fantasy world I've seen that actually tackles disability when faced with healing magic.

100

Candlelight7 [Insert 18+ emoji] @candlelight7.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Now this is interesting because I came away with the complete opposite opinion! I think it has a very strong plot that anchors itself in the dilemma of being a child. You have no power and yet is so aware of the unfairness around you, you keep secrets you know you’ll get in trouble for keeping.
