@mattbevan.bsky.social hi love your work I just listen to the to the last ep. of if you are… and it left me with one big question??? If you are the president can get access to nice things in the WH. Obama did what I would have done and got PRINCE to do a show in the WH but the question is which room

Ps today I spent two hours pushing pixels around on a screen using open GL (they paid me to do it) something which you can’t do easily with modern UI language (think HTML) but I love pushing pixels I am Slartybartfast like that I like the little cringly things

I am happy to be retiring soon so I don’t have to build software for the world of tomorrow because I can’t get the satisfaction from making software by binding two agents together and letting all the magic happen in a little black box. I am an old man I like well crafted things

I have had a look at apples new tools for creating UI’s and I can see the benefits in using them they also dumb down the visual things you can do (that means I have to fight with the system in order to produce what is in my head) but most just let the system win.

The same thing is happening to modern UIs we are looking to new ways to interact with our devices and now that AI is getting good enough to understand us we can now use AI as an user interface like talking or through cameras.

I am used to a classic user interface I use the Mac terminal everyday but my son knows there is a thing called a command line but he would rather eat ludfisk than use one. When he orders from a fast food place he orders by phone or kiosk rather than talking to a human

There must be an app for that to notice. The App Store is now the Morden version of the shareware magazine.

There is a lot here which would be easier to discuss over a beer. But yes agree with some of what is being said but no there is nothing to panic about. 1 the App Store business model is now broken ! No the App Store businesses model was broken from the start but we where too busy saying

when we had the riots and for a few hours the feeling was a bit dicey. But now it is so tame even the brothel next to my flat closed in 2007 hardly any police sirens and most of the colorful characters are gone except for me of course.

Last night the labor party lost its greatest asset. And they have to realize that an election like this dose not come around twice so they have to do their job now and not the shit they have done for the past three years

The problem is now he will think is is some kind of political super genius but in really all he has done this for is being more likable than a compulsory liar and the must un lovable person alive on this continent

Christian Stær Andersen @canderse.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

I would consider a labor majority government the second worst result that we could see tomorrow

It not a Redback so it is a good day. Lift the lid, light some toilet paper and drop it in the bowl and smoke her out.

Here is the solution for Tesla. Wait one year for it’s market cap to tank so bad that and Elon is ousted and banished, but this will not be enough in order for Tesla to be (coors beer in a gay bar) expected again it needs some badge engineering I am thinking replacing the T with a icon of a fruit

Christian Stær Andersen @canderse.bsky.social · 05/04/2025

Teslas value was mostly in the value of the brand and musk has single handily put fire to that by not understanding Teslas customer base. If you look at a venn of people whom tesla cars appeal to and whatever his politics is you will find very little overlap.
