The Life of a Cancer Trial | Cancer Trials Ireland
What does it take to open and run a cancer clinical trial? The Life of a Cancer Trial follows the Isa-RVD cancer trial for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, showing the people, processes and purpose behind cancer trials in Ireland. Through Jed’s experience as a patient on the trial, alongside insights from Prof Peter O’Gorman, the Clinical Trials team at the Mater Hospital and Cancer Trials Ireland colleagues, the film explores the work involved in bringing a trial from idea to patient recruitment, treatment, monitoring, data collection and sharing results. The film highlights the collaboration involved in cancer trials: patients and families, investigators, research nurses, hospital site teams, data teams, trial managers, monitors, funders, industry partners and international collaborators all working together to answer important questions and improve treatment options for patients. Cancer Trials Ireland is the national organisation dedicated to cancer trials in Ireland. We work with hospital sites, investigators, patients, funders and international partners to make cancer trials available to patients in Ireland.
