the living end is one of my favourite movies ever & was shot on 16mm & soooo much of the american avant garde / experimental stuff in the 60s on was on 16mm & exists because of how the format like, allowed for Control the way 35mm did but was so much more financially accessible

first of all every audio/visual information carrier has its own unique qualities and i am endlessly fascinated by weird outdated formats and writing any of them off sucks. secondly cds & dvds & digital (digital!) cameras are not analog hope this helps. also i am the most annoying person ever.

insane thing to say when 16mm film is the most beautiful & fascinating moving image format of all time

if i had a nickel for every time i skipped 2 separate opportunities to see a band because i didn't feel like going and told myself there'd be other times & then the band disbanded,

Our new album Spring Grove, produced by Julien Baker, comes out April 4th :) the first single “Cumulonimbus” is out now with a music video co-directed by Jo and me. We’ve been sitting on this record for a long time and we’re so unbelievably excited to share it <3

i don't shuffle albums often because i forget that's a thing you can do but sometimes you just wanna hear the songs on an album but don't want to commit to the whole thing (or listening to the first 4 songs a million times and ignoring the rest)!

speaking as someone who is subscribed to a few substacks from musicians & photographers that i'm a fan of and also hates receiving emails

020

camryn @camryn.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

i like the substack format because if i don't want to be receiving emails i can still just go to the person's substack and read the post! also you can enable paid subscriptions - i know some people have paid subscriber only posts enabled, and some people just offer Support Only tiers like this
