WOE IS ME FOR MY PAINT HAS MOLDERED Context: I've been using jelly gouache. I opened up my set to rehydrate it for #AWU this weekend and it was full of mold. Salvaged the white, black, earth tones, cool red, and a cool blue.

Sometimes I think about how we burn stuff in effigy to send it to the ancestors, but these days everyone sends money instead of clothes or livestock or whatever, so the ancestors are probably living in squalor with crazy cash inflation.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.
