If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula.
A creepy man who talks about using the blood of young people to extend his own life.

Considering trying a trackball, and one of the images used to show the Kensington Expert is this gem of a "fuck it, I'm just using a picture of my saddest colleague's desk" showing an early naughts cube farm desk setup, including what looks to be an integrated Iomega Zip drive in the COMPAQ desktop.
A COMPAQ desktop-profile computer with an integrated CD-ROM and Iomega Zip drive, with a ViewSonic 4:3 aspect flat panel sitting atop it and an Acer 4:3 aspect flat panel off to the right, connected using a DVI-to-VGA adapter, with flat keyboard and a Kensington Expert trackball.

"We remember when the internet felt like a reprieve: a place where you built the architecture, and your enemies lacked the tools to break it, and you wrote with carefree curiosity instead of checking boxes. We were too busy discovering each other to imagine anyone merging us into an indistinguishable mass. How could they, and more importantly, why would they?"

Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, DC, Marvel, Disney, Pixar, Spielberg, Cameron, Wachowskis, or Ghibli.
an image of a woman with big, puffy hair, large earrings, and blue eye shadow up to her brows saying, "sometimes i sing and dance around the house in my underwear; doesn't make me madonna"

From the film Working Girl.

That's a lot of words to say you're still weirdly bitter about not being able to say the r-word in polite company.
Screenshot of text that reads: "AI psychosis" is one of those terms that is incredibly useful and also almost certainly going to be deprecated in smart circles in short order because it is: a) useful; b) easily colloquialized to describe related phenomena; and c) adjacent to medical issues, and there's a group of people who feel very strongly any metaphor that implicates human health is intrinsically stigmatizing and must be replaced with an awkward, lengthy phrase that no one can remember and only insiders understand.

Imagine posting this unironically on LinkedIn. Grammarly was shit before this debacle.

I don't have a Facebook account and don't use Facebook. This is what they show me. Stop using exclusive social media tools as primary public notification tools. If Facebook wants to be used this way, they should make these pages public without obstacle.

Framing differences in "politics" as orthogonal to differences in "social beliefs" is…specious.
Screenshot of text from NBC news article: "But it's not just politics driving the divide. The latest [poll]…shows how the political gender gap persists alongside different social beliefs between young men and women."

"The ability to think is often coextensive with the ability to act.

When the space shuttle Columbia's managers felt they could do nothing to save the spaceship if it was damaged, they made few efforts to get in-flight photographs, and even interfered with those who were desperately seeking them."

He *used an expletive*?! Appalling!
NYT mentioning the use of an expletive in their description of a justice department official suggesting that the Trump admin brazenly ignore court orders they don't like, as if the choice of language is material.

This bit reminds me of the time (~2012ish) a middle-school acquaintance of my kids' described how his dad—a Blackhawk pilot—missed using his helicopter to "herd Mexicans" near the US Mexican border. The desire to terrorize others among (mostly white) men in the US is incredibly common.
Screenshot of excerpt from article: "…and went on to explain that he fantasized about flying an Apache helicopter gunship to the border and firing on undocumented migrants…"
