Even though I tend to go up most every September, I still love to go during the rutting season and fall beauty. This herd was quiet, restful and peaceful as he didn’t have any bulls to fight off and they seemed settled as a herd. #rockymountainnationalpark #ruttingseason #elk

Last photo I took today, from car window, pausing, on drive home from RMNP through Thompson Canyon. This was a treat. Many stopped to see them. There was a small herd, with some on lower canyon walls, and mothers and young ones near the road.
