Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The absolute state of Liverpool's transfer strategy. Whole thing needs to be gutted. 130
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Close the transfer window now. Can't be arsed with it. 010
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 11/08/2026I wonder if Liverpool are stuck on their valuation of just above the €100m or will they seek a compromise in between that and what PSG want? Would they go to say €130m inclusive of add ons? It'll likely take something like that. 000
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Is it wrong to have slightly greater expectations for signings in other areas now that we've decided to save money by loaning a defensive option? If we don't go big in the forward line now I'll be more inclined to just believe the money wasn't available, which is a concern. 100
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Big boy is Ronnie. He's definitely grabbing at least one red card for us in this loan year. 250
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 10/08/2026The next group that took over from FSG were always going to be a bigger gang of cunts than them. Anyone that could afford the club and keep the lights on didn't get their money from baking cookies. 1102
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Some nice moments in the first half but plenty of work to do on and off the pitch. Far from convincing defensively. Not just in the second half where we basically capitulated but also in the first where we looked too porous for my liking. 100
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Very encouraging. Lots to love. Can start to imagine how much better it gets when you add more quality and match sharpness. Still have concerns over that midfield two. Not offering much protection to that defence. 200
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Arsenal probably feel they only need to add a few to tighten their grip on the title so can afford to splash £75m on a soon to be 29 year old midfielder. He's a good player but this feels a bit mad. 100
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 08/08/2026What is nice is the last 3 deals came from absolutely nowhere. So it offers some hope for the rest of the window. 150
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Our record with these stop gap loan types is abysmal so I'm not enthusiastic if I'm honest. Liverpool are either broke, constrained severely by SCR or putting their funds into other areas. 111
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I see Rangers lost 2-1 to Nathan Lane's character in The Producers. 000
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I'm fine with all those players signing for Liverpool. Leaves us short though. Not signing another CB means we would need to get very lucky throughout the season. Feels like a disaster waiting to happen. Also not sure who they see as the candidate to be Isak's understudy? 230
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Jacquet unlikely to make the Monaco game. No chance he's available at Newcastle. Liverpool need to get their shit together and sign a senior centre half. Enough fucking about. 130
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Probably just posturing but Joycey not overly positive on Barcola. Valuations are very far apart. 200
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Tim foil hat on. Seems a bit of a coincidence that the official club site runs this story on Leoni today in the wake of a 48 hours where people have been pretty irate over reports that Liverpool won't be adding defensive options. 260
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 04/08/2026I see the Minteh link is floating around again. Fwiw he would be my choice of a right sided winger in a market that's not especially exciting. Firstly, it's actually his favoured position. Secondly he's still young enough to go up a level in the right hands. I think Iraola could be the right coach. 121
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 03/08/2026I think there's a fair chance this fella hasn't got a clue but if he happens to guess correctly then I think you can forget about the title. Top 4 might be tough. 110
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Van Dijk's crowning achievement if he wins anything with the players he has around him in that defence. Not just centre half. I'm not sold on any of them being good enough to compete for the biggest trophies. Literally none. Whether it's inexperience, robustness or just not being of a standard. 220
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Good first half. Poor second half. More fitness. One or two doing themselves no harm. A few in this second half not helping their cause. This squad will struggle next season without reinforcements. Less than a month to go. 010
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Second half a good reminder of how light we are. Time to get their finger out and start doing business. 040
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Leeds getting their diving up to snuff ahead of the new season. 010
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026The encouraging thing about this is you can see players still aren't sure of what Iraola is asking of them positionally and tactically. It'll only improve from here. 020
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Ndukwe is fantastic. Only 18 but I'll be shocked if he doesn't end up in the first team plans at some point. 360

Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 31/07/2026The end of this window is either going to be breakneck in terms of ins and outs or a damp squib. The cynic in me says the latter but I have a feeling it could get hectic. 210

The last PL title to be won by the 1st place team winning without it being final day was Chelsea 16-17 1121
Reposted by TaffinMichael Reid @michaelreid.bsky.social · 23/04/2025In the 32 previous Premier League seasons, the title has been confirmed because the nearest challenger failed to win a match 12 times - but 5 of those have been in the last 9 seasons which possibly makes it feel like it's more common. 181
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 23/04/2025So two things on the latest Dean Huijsen development. 1. If the player wants Chelsea over Liverpool then he's not the player we want anyway. 2. The report comes from Mig Delaney. He's a good egg who does good work but I don't think I've ever seen one of his transfer stories come to fruition. 120
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 22/04/2025Villa a little too defensive for my liking here. Never really had a cohesive plan to hurt City. 100
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 22/04/2025Suspect we'll go with 5 forwards next season. The kid will just take Chiesa's place in the squad. 010
Taffin @calvlyfeson.bsky.social · 22/04/2025These suggestions that Huijsen would be replacing Konate rather than coming in as a viable 3rd option are very concerning. He has huge potential but he's not at Ibou's level yet and he's a very different type. 110
