This kicked ass, wuxia is back babey!

My 4.5/5 star review of Blades of the Guardians from February 19th, 2026:

Yoooo, this fuckin rips. There is nothing like a wuxia desert epic to cut through this long and cold winter.

I think there was probably a bit too much story stuffed in here, and at times the details get lost when relying on subtitles, but lets be honest that's not really why we're here.

This is a little over 2 hours long but it flies when there's barely a 10 minute stretch that goes by without some sort of slick action . 80 year old Yuen Woo-ping is an absolute madman for some of the insane over-the-top fight choreography on display here.

There is no legitimate reason this didn't get any publicity for a halfway sizeable US theatrical release that reached my local AMC, so I'll do my part by saying get out and go see this in theaters, it's a great fuckin time.

i waited in online ordering queues for over 100 minutes today. 45 minutes to not get any prismatic evolutions boxes on the pokemon center, but thankfully i was able to get my switch 2 preorder thru at walmart after sitting there for 55 minutes. if i had gotten neither i would've been furious.
