It’s a strong instinct in the Anatolian breed

Calliss Clan @callissclan.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Yep, Shayne recognised its markings from when it was over in the neighbour’s paddock - so we’re definitely in it’s territory 😞

I think it’s probably an alert. I’ve never seen a sheep frighten off a fox. (I wouldn’t mind betting old Pretty would’ve, in her day, though.)

Not when you’ve got that much growing to do

070

Calliss Clan @callissclan.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Normally, yes but this one had to get past the sheep to get to the chooks

They were standing around it & stomping their feet

Our sheep near the house had a fox bailed up yesterday lunchtime. #BerenBanana was sleeping when Shayne spotted it but I woke him & took him out. The fox was off but Mr B was straight onto its scent. We’ve seen this fox before in among the neighbour’s sheep - it’s very brazen 😳🦊🐕🙅🏻‍♀️

#BerenBanana is pretending to sleep but the tail is a giveaway 😋🍌💛

I don’t love being in the city but you just have to find the nice bits.

In fact, if you zoom in top right you can see a fluffy butt sitting on the dog bed, peering inside 🐓

They line up every afternoon for their Nesty Boxes mash & tap on the window if they’ve been waiting too long 😂

#BerenBanana’s half twist & stretch #eflongeration technique is improving 🍌💛

No idea - I can’t pick him up & stand on the scales anymore & it beem a couple of months since his last vet visit.

Calliss Clan @callissclan.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Well, he gets no food & no attention if he’s naughty, so there’s that.,,

#BerenBanana is being taught to “leave it” ⭐️🍌💛

Not really. I had to sit in the back with her while Shayne drove. It took both of us to get her into the vet clinic because she didn’t like going indoors either. (Either the exception being our house for the last 9-10 months of her life)

Cosy 😋 #BerenBanana does like a ride in the car though.

Yum! I’m going to make chutney & stew mine. I’ll pick some more this morning for Mum & she’ll probably make jam.

#BerenBanana knew perfectly well how to get his foot out - but will always play the fool if he thinks it’ll get him some attention 😋🍌💛

I was a bit busy yesterday - picked 8.6kg of quandongs… then had the slow & tedious job of stoning them. Of course, I had lots of help… 🤪

#BerenBanana’s looking pretty comfy

21617

Calliss Clan @callissclan.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

He’s only about 1/2 - 2/3 grown

030

Calliss Clan @callissclan.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Really well - he’s a smart cookie but the Anatolian’s trait of ignoring at will has tested my patience at times. We are enrolled in a snake avoidance course, so that’s what we’re working up to.

Every now & then I get the old vacuum cleaner out to touch up the bits the robot can’t reach & #BerenBanana wasn’t moving so I thought I’d go straight to the source 😂

Yes, the magpies have had another chick & it’s just starting to fly. Shayne rescued it off the road a couple of times last week but I saw it a few days ago flying very short distances 🤞

#BerenBanana sometimes has four legs in, but mostly it’s three. (Where have I seen that before? 🤔 It’s going to be warm & windy today - already 21°C just after 6am.
