After that, it was off into the garden for the annual (I've just decided now) Acres family portrait.

This is the only picture I have to show how chaotic this family was when opening gifts. I don't know what news Fergus is breaking to Zoey in the corner but it looks good.

Robbie: How's social bunny going, Aunt Zo? Zoey: Half these buttons still don't make any sense, look, what does this me-me mean? Robbie: do you mean meme?

Finally, they arrived and a three-course dinner was on the table. Forest, who celebrated a birthday off-screen after the kicking incident, is now a child. C: How's school, Forest? F: Good! I joined every sports they have! Fergus is too busy eating to comment, he hasn't had home cooking in ages.

Big distractions (in the form of grandad) were in place to distract the toddler from the pile of presents.

Unsurprisingly, Winterfest Day started with Cora in the kitchen. The other half of the Acres clan was due over for lunch, so an early start was necessary. (Especially with the way lag was going.)

At home, Cora was making the most of the toddler-free time to put up the Winterfest decorations (and a creepy snowman she found). C: What do you think, dear, does it look alright? K: Lovely and festive. Say - I can think of another way we might spend some of this alone time *eyebrow waggle*

Alexis: Well...okay. I'll go check it out first then and I'll be able to show him all the cool stuff when he's bigger. CAN WE DO PRESENTS NOW!? I'd like everyone to know that someone bought Caelif a 'Banana Bank Heist Model Van', and Zoey wasn't impressed. (She is a lawyer after all.)

A: SPEAKING OF FORESTS, I go to camp SOON and I'm almost done getting my supplies. Mr. Hilmer says 'a scout prepared is a scout alive!' Anya: I don't love that saying.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Z: So how has everything been going at the lab? [Imagine a very complicated explanation of how Anya and Minkz are saving the world one Eco-innovation at a time] A: -and that'll just improve everything really, because once the forest is looking better that'll make all the difference.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Minkz: Come on everyone, Caelif and I are hungry! Note: thank you to my Sims game which immediately entered a strange loop of Minkz and Caelif sitting down, getting up, sitting down, getting up, and ultimately never sitting at my lovely set table.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Cora: Are you excited, Cae, you'll see your Daddy today! Zoey: Mom, he's going to get cereal everywhere if he gets too excited. Caelif: SISSY *throws fruit loops immediately*

K: What is this? C: (very distracted, checking Social Bunny) Hm? What dear? K: They're not even being sneaky now, look at him on the counter. C: Ooh another follower! What's that love? Why don't you go and read Caelif a story, that makes you feel better. K: grumble I do like Charlotte's Pig grumble

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Fergus: I think that might be our cue to go, though. Thanks Mom. Cora: Oh any time, drop him off tomorrow if you want, Zoey refuses to let me install a daycare mod so Caelif can start skilling early. Cora: Where do you think you're going? Caelif: follows where cousin goes

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Fergus: FOREST ACRES Forest: (in toddler speak)I just kidding, look Dada Cora: Can't say I miss the kicking stage.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Forest: hiii-yah! Fergus: -- kicking people. Caelif: BIG BIG CRY

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Cora: How's it all been going? I see you have your emotional support clay. Fergus: furiously punching clay - Long. And Robbie's new thing is to apparently punch punch skip school. So I've had really fun conversations with the principal let me tell you. And now Forest has--

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

The next day, Cora was on babysitting duty and figured it was a good opportunity for a playdate/post-funeral catch up. (translated from toddler-speak) Forest: Her hair is too long! I fix it, gnaw gnaw Caelif: Careful of the hair monster, dolly! Forest: All better! Give me your one!

@shoobysims.com question if you don't miiiind, have you ever released a townie pack of your sims? I remember your save file, but can't remember if you had a separate download for townies.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

hey sims friends, when you're using mccc to pull townies from your library - how many sims should I have saved in my library to pull from? #thesims4

It was the night before (the night before) Winterfest and all through the house not a creature was stirr--oh never mind.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

Cora: You look after her, you hear me. None of this ghastly ghost business either, she's got a toddler. Zoey: We better go, Mom. We're starting to get those 'death by cold' moodlets. Cora: You're right. Bye Tony.

080

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

Robbie: What do we do now? Zoey: You ring me. We're not going anywhere.

070

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

Cora: That was really lovely, Ferg. I'm so proud of you. Fergus: Thanks, mom. Cora: She would've liked that you mentioned her Articorn card.

040

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

Fergus: But her greatest joy in the end wasn't her epic Articorn shiny, it was her kids. And I thank plumbob everyday I got to experience that with her.

050

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

Fergus: Thank you all for braving the snow with me so we can say goodbye to my best friend, my wife. I can barely remember a time before her, before our epic Voidcritter battles and her terrible cooking.

040

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

And with that, we're all caught up and I can play again! (yay!)

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Grim: Best be off. Fergus: what in the gerbit am I going to do now, Zo?

050

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

For some reason, Bailey picked this moment to drop dead. Cora: Now you look here, Mr., this is my grandson's birthday, and that's my daughter-in-law. There's a perfectly good retirement home down the street you can go and visit. Grim: Lady, that's not how it works.

CaliKiwiSims @calikiwisims.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Big sister was present too, thrilled that finally he was big enough to have fun with. Note: Alexis is the daughter of Minkz and Anya, Zoey's best friends. Minkz is Caelif's dad via science (it's a whole thing).
