CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Nothing to see here just a #selkie trying to act like a normal human up on the land 🦭

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

Idk this pony is giving me "secretly a Kelpie" vibes🐴

Presenting almost all my hubby's photos of me at the beach if I'm not actively swimming in it or sunbathing; pulling out the old "selkie without their skin longing for the sea" vibes 101

Some #wingsoffire buttons I made recently! Now up on my shop :3

Some #selkie themed #art buttons I made recently! Now up on my shop🦭

031

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

Some #art I finished tonight (two #artcommissions + 1 personal piece) feat. Tamarin from Wings of Fire (turning it into a bookmark), a mini badge for someone, and a wee smaller mini badge of my fur seal selkie!

050

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

Some #selkie bookmarks I did recently! Feat. harbor seals, grey seals, fur seals, and sea lions!

021

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

A wee ink #art doodle of my Northern fur seal selkie(fursona + persona???🤔), to be colored soon! Despite the selkie pelt I wear to events I am a fur seal at heart haha

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

And now presenting the woman who I blame for making me a selkie aka my ocean-crazed grandma who always talks about how much she misses living by the sea and has a bunch of ocean stuff in her house and that suspiciously screams selkie to me We went to some of the CA Mermaid con this weekend!

041

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 15/05/2026

Swimming on down for some of the CA Mermaid convention this weekend! 🦭

Heading off to another faire event this weekend! Hopefully by the Hollister ren faire, I will have completed the second selkie pelt for my hubby lol

031

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

Went to a celtic festival with the hubby today and it was quite fun! And it was fun startling people as always when I'd lay down somewhere and then move my head or a flipper 😅😂 Check out this cool dragon sculpture!

030

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Made a few more wee edits and ended up making the eyes a smidge smaller + taped up! Also cut out all the other pieces for the pelt/cloak part, so mentally preparing for like a week of handsewing because I'm insane and gonna handsew this whole thing like I did the first one lol

020

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

Made some small wee edits to this seal base + a rough drawover of what will be added Was gonna make the eyes smaller but most liked the big eyes + to further tie it to selkie lore having large dark eyes so keeping the 👁️👁️ Shape is based on a mix of harbor/grey seal

020

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

+ Sea lion! All done with just one very easy tweak :3

020

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

Currently working on revamping the seal head pattern I made from my first selkie pelt for future builds + to see how I can modify it later for other species like sea lions and etc. Turning this guy into a harbor seal for my hubby for ren faires so we can be a selkie couple lol

021

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 16/04/2026

A sneak peek at what I've been working on lately! Some new button designs for new #wingsoffire characters and also some buttons for each dragon tribe! I predict I will be done with a good half of the main book 16 characters this month and up on my shop soon.

Last day of Sac-Con! I am quickly selling out of some stickers and buttons! And today is international seal day! 🦭

041

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 21/03/2026

All set up for #saccon this weekend! Last con with my old banner and logo (with my old chupacabra fursona) and then next show will have my updated seal/beach theme! Originally that was my theme when I first began so going back to its roots :)

022

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig! ☘️ I’ve always stuck more to the celebrating Irish roots route when it comes to St. Paddy’s day since I have some Irish blood, and growing up with my grandma telling me about things like selkies definitely kickstarted the whole #selkie nature in me 🦭

051

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 15/03/2026

Went on a little trip with my hubby to some St. Patrick’s Day events this weekend! If you look closely you can see some of my louder cousins sunbathing themselves 🦭 #selkie

061

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

Some #secretsatredrocks fanart feat. Cara and Jessie in their seal forms because I finished watching the show and listening to the audiobook recently and just adore the portrayal of #selkies in it. 🦭

020

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 02/02/2026

So sad Dinoland at WDAK will be gone now :( I remember growing up so badly wanting to go on this ride (obsessed with the movie when I was a kid) and I finally got that wish when I went once on my first trip to Disney World with my sister two years ago. Alas, I will always remember you, Aladar!

010

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 01/02/2026

If I fits I sits I was so tempted to take the floatie home because I was so comfy on it lol #furcon #furtherconfusion #furcon2026 #selkie #seal

061

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 18/01/2026

Wee change of plan, will be around for one hour today at #furcon because our ride back home was delayed! Gonna make our last rounds through dealers and saying hi then catch our ride 🚆

020

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 18/01/2026

Thanks #furcon for the fun time! Had a wee laugh at accidentally scaring some people when I moved after I lay down like the first two photos lol #furtherconfusion #fc2026 #furcon2026

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

On the way to #furcon! Got a nice ocean view on the trip there fit for a seal haha

021

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 05/01/2026

Thanks for all the support at #sacanime! The booth will be more seal-themed for any shows later this year as rebranding now goes underway! Will be keeping same name, just changing themes as I originally started out as a seal-theme and now returning to the roots! 🦭

030

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 19/12/2025

Recently went to the #Dickensfair with my hubs! Added some fresh drybrushing spots to my #selkie pelt, just waiting for new whisker material to come in then will be galumphing on to #furtherconfusion for the beach theme!

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

Thanks again to everyone at #pawcon this year! We broke last year’s record in sales, got to test a new setup, and got to meet other seals! Hoping to come galumphing back again next year 🦭

091

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Fun fact: A tree fell on our apartment while I was drawing my wee segment for this 💀😭 the irony

000

CaliCreature @calicreature.bsky.social · 08/11/2025

Late post for #pawcon! Trying a more self serve table setup, and I am very surprised how many people recognize my #selkie pelt! 🦭

A teaser for the 3 hour epic that will be Ashes in Her Wake! In all seriousness the FUFUFU Fairy got us BIG TIME. I decided I would rather have it done right and really honour the work by the cast and crew than meet a deadline. Enjoy the teaser though! www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQbg...

Oml I’m barely on social media forgot to post this sooner lmao but recently added front flippers to my #selkie pelt! Got it done in time for last few events then its waiting for next year for more galumphing around ren faires 🦭 learned a lot from this that I will be improving on for future crafts!

A wee quick look into how I made my #selkie pelt for some ren faires I went to recently! I go more in depth on the process on my Tumblr, but in a nutshell took lots of handsewing (yes its 100% handsewn cuz I have no sanity) and 2 weeks to make!

Working on a project I’ve wanted to tackle for a while! In the WIP stage 🦭 Hoping to finish it before the end of this month but depends on when my fabric finally arrives. Haven’t carved foam in a while so this was a nice warmup though still a bit rough on the edges!
