It's both, but the mindset is key. The most successful Early Access launches treat it as their launch. It's a massive marketing event. If you go in thinking it's just a quiet beta, you'll be invisible. You must market your EA launch as aggressively as your 1.0.

The answer is: Reddit, by a long shot. TikTok's algorithm is designed for fleeting, passive entertainment. The barrier to wishlist is low, but so is the intent. Reddit is a community of dedicated PC gamers. An upvote signals genuine interest, leading to far more fruitful wishlists.

10% launch discount isn’t a “sale” - it’s a signal. Players expect it. Launching at full price creates friction and makes wishlisters wait, killing day-one momentum. A 10–15% discount tells them now is the moment and helps push reviews early. Don’t fight it. Use the signal they’re waiting for.
