Been making these Burghead rings for a while now but decided to make one for myself that matches my weirdness. While it’s a replica of an ancient artefact and perfect for historical reenactment theres no reason why I cant modify it to match modern tastes or styles. Heavily oxidised silver.

Anglo Saxon crosses can be very elaborate and regal. Our new silver cross based on a Gravesend Hoard artefact is a great example of this. Silver with engraved details and gold plated bronze setting encircling a gorgeous glass cabochon which was custom made by @bluflamer 🔥

It was a pleasure to work on these bronze pendants for the “primitive nature experimental blackened ambient metal” band Wyrdstaef. They have finally released their long awaited debut album, go check it out. They’re class.

These cute wee pendants are inspired by illustrations from the Book of Deer, a local early medieval gospel book which is believed to have been written in the Monestary of Deer before it was "moved" and has now ended up in the university of Cambridge.

The Dundurn Pictish Ring This ring is inspired by the remains of a casting mould found during excavations at the royal Pictish fort of Dundurn, Perthshire. The casting mould was likely a clothes pin (which is also available).

This pendant is based on a Saxon artefact from Ousden, England. It depicts two ravens, and could be a representation of Woden/Odins two messengers Huggin and Munnin. There are a few of them in stock right now which can be posted on Wednesday if you’re quick!😁

Selkies are very common in Scottish folklore, many beautiful tales have been written about them. They are mythical creatures who can shapeshift between a human and a seal form. The silver and bronze pendants here depict them in their seal form, handmade in a Pictish style.

Temporarily relisted the gold option of the tiny Repton style Mjolnir. I'll be buying some 9ct for a job next week so if you'd like one I'm estimating around 3 weeks for production including hallmarking. Feel free to get in touch for quotes for anything else in 9ct!

Following on from the sneak peek post last week, here is one of the treasures available now!✨ Large gold plated bronze brooch based on an unprovenanced early medieval Celtic “brooch”, possibly from Islandbridge, which may have been a reliquary fitting.

With Summer Solstice approaching, let’s talk about sunwheels. One of the oldest, if not THE oldest, symbol in the world. Its meaning varies between different cultures, though commonly linked to sun worship. What does this symbol mean to you? Do you celebrate Summer Solstice?

Viking stye money rings - commonly used in Early Medieval times as currency, now as precious heirlooms. These are all ready for posting! Which stye is your favourite? Twisted wire, stamped details, or intricate head terminals like the goddess Morrigan’s crows shown here?

This brooch is based on an artefact which was found in Edinburgh castle, a type of adornment from the late Iron Age/Roman period known as a “Dragonesque Brooch”. There are many examples of similar brooches from that time period, all having a dragon-like figure.

This heavy piece is based on the 10th century Anglo Saxon trewhiddle style pectoral cross from the Galloway Hoard which was buried in south western Scotland. The original must have been quite a significant piece of jewellery when it was made with very symbolic details.

While the Picts essentially remain a mystery it's always exciting what new discoveries are made about them every year. The ring is a bronze cast of my own wax carving, the coin hand stamped by myself and the glass bead (quite a common style in Northern Scotland) by @poleglassshop

There are diffrent ways to recreate a historical artefact. While some prefer a restored look, others might want an aged and broken look, as if the piece was just dug up. Pictured is the Chelmsford Roman Figurine - the shiny and broken versions together. Which do you prefer?

Many Pictish symbols are shrouded in mystery, no one can say for sure what their significance is. A good example of this is the Z-Rod symbol which appears on many carved standing stones. It is usually carved together with another symbol. What do you think could be the meaning behind the Z-Rod?

This beautiful Pictish ring is based on a gilt silver bezel found by a detectorist near Montrose. Its similarities to the Burghead ring are very self evident and being made from precious metal will complete your high status Pictish reenactment kit with a touch of regality.

The Pictish mirror symbol is carved into stones across Scotland. There are many theories as to why but here I will focus on just maiking it shiny like a real mirror. Here I am sandcasting a pendant based on the symbol in recycled sterling silver.
