Cal-IPC conducted a survey to assess the need for resources on weed spread through contaminated materials like mulch. Most respondents reported taking management action to control weeds from contaminated materials. More to come as Cal-IPC works to secure funding for this project!

Cal-IPC was excited to present on a collaborative effort to manage desert knapweed in Borrego Valley at the ESRI UC Map Gallery. The map shows parcels with infestations where Right-of-Entry agreements are required, highlighting where outreach is needed to secure access for effective management.

With the USFS and El Dorado County Ag Commissioner, Cal-IPC is coordinating the control of yellow star thistle on the local fairgrounds, an Incident Command Post for large fires (photo: Caldor Fire base camp, 2021). Weed control is essential in these staging areas to prevent spread of propagules.
