"The Green" happened tonight. Zubac spaced out to the corner for the rifle concept. Skip pass into uphill hand-off.

Might actually like an adjustment from the corner shooter about whether to come out of the corner. If their defender goes in, then shake up to lengthen the rotation to tag the roller & get back to contest the shot. If their defender goes up to meet the roller high/early, stay down.

Thought this looked familiar. RAM-Elbow-Split-Exit. 2-man action out of RAM series for the big to flash to the elbow. Flows into split action with an exit screen to open space at the nail for the short-roll. Turnover here, but this is the same play the Pacers opened games with for Sabonis.

Other new possibilities: - the Nembhard-Walker-Oubre-Siakam-Toppin lineup - Walker opening himself up as the rolling screener - lots of handoffs! - 2-3 tandem zone - showing on double drags On the return of the brightside in the return of Mr. Brightside www.patreon.com/basketballsh...

As players and leagues win with prediction markets, fans left holding the bag
The more successful betting partnerships between sports leagues like the NBA and prediction markets like Kalshi or Polymarket are, the more miserable fans will become.

Just asked Victor Wembanyama if he’d ever consider promoting a sports betting company. “Absolutely not. I will never do that. Honestly, I think it's very sad to see some players promote it. .. Everybody does whatever they want, but without me.”

The best defenses in the NBA are also the best defenses at limiting fast-break points. Most of them don’t crash often with multiple players, barring one — w/ a unique shot profile. On what this implies about tagging up & whether Zubac’s rebounding will alter *how* IND rebounds. (No Paywall)

When asked by reporters at Media Day in what ways he'll have to adjust to the team, Zubac mentioned "playing up to a touch in PnR" and "already looking ahead when he rebounds the ball." Those were the two skills I picked for him in the video below. This is why you read/watch Basketball, She Wrote:

This is what Polymarket does

Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I won’t be because I do not watch nor cover the NFL. Also, Polymarket is an extra level of dystopian. My issue is with prediction markets that allow wagers on policies/politics that affect our lives. You’re looking for gotchas and whataboutisms where there aren’t any.

Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I don’t cover the NFL, but I can assure you it’s disappointing to see all of the athletes who appeared in that Polymarket ad — which included Sue Bird, Eli Manning, etc. My focus is the NBA.

Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
No idea. I don’t cover the NFL — and Polymarket is an extreme version of FanDuel.

Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I don’t think you should hate anyone. None of this changes his greatness as a player or his many charitable endeavors, but Polymarket is extremely dystopian. It’s okay to wish/hope he would be more thoughtful in promoting it.
160
Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
Aside from the ramifications of gambling addiction, Polymarket allows wagers on policies, natural disasters, clinical trials etc. (w/ insider trader potential) that affects our actual lives. Spend your money how you want, but seems fair to criticize promotion of that.

Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
1) It affects the industry I work in and the fans of that industry greatly 2) doubt he was expecting the level of backlash he’s received the last few weeks
030
Caitlin Cooper @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
Anyone not promoting polymarket is a win imo, but I don’t think there’s any denying that his voice carries more influence — hence why they’re paying him so much as a sponsor.

Relatedly, if player rankings start being written/determined by AI, will readers still muster the same energy to get mad online at robots? Or, should we just assume that AI is generating an army of bots to argue with itself — sponsored by some prediction market, of course.
