Changing from academia to industry is often referred as transitioning. But how does this transition look like? From a physics point of view, I'd say it' a second order phase transition. 🧪👩🏻‍🔬 ⚛️ 🧵#AcademicSky

That’s the famous Kitaev chain. Start with electrons → rewrite as Majoranas → recombine → and boom: unpaired Majorana modes at the ends. Here’s a visual I made to show it 👇

Besides his portrait being displayed next to us at our wedding ceremony, my husband and I walked under a city gate with a Dedicato a Dante banner just after getting married. At the time, it felt like a fun coincidence. Looking back, it was oddly fitting for the journey I’d be on. 2/8
