Excuse the crappy skin application, it's being replaced soon. Laptop crashed earlier tonight while booting a game, and I just can't be arsed to deal with an overheating dying machine right now. So, Steam Deck it is. Sucks for what I'm trying to do but I'll manage. Still waiting on new job, btw.

Acquiring this Steam Deck has given me too much power. Slight flashing lights warning in case you can't handle VHS artifacting.

I find frogs on my evening walks most nights when it's humid in this area I'm staying in. This one looks like he just woke up from a nap. What an esteemed gentleman.

Forgot to post my third dan clear, week before Dojo ended. We start over again on the 6th. I likely won't be doing anything until the 14th, especially given I'm sick right now. Back to the.. grind? Shoutout to Leisureland 1's 3rd machine P1 drum for being an absolute champ.

Cursed 2nd Dan clear. -1% soul hurts me. I could've had gold. Last play on official maibachi (blues I borrowed from my girlfriend) until I pick up my new custom ones tomorrow.

For those interested in adding me on Donder Hiroba for whatever reason, here you go. Unapologetically 1st dan and probably won't go much further than that for now. I'm a chronic Taiko no Tatsujin player and I'm not sorry.

Brooke @cafemilk.moe · 08/03/2026

Ah yes.. because I already verified *and* have a domain attached to the account, which isn't enough. Guess I'm too baby-faced. I'll take it as a compliment but I'm still going to be annoyed. Gonna have to try again when I'm sleep deprived because only the despair of a mid 20s woman can do this, ig.

New Taiko PB today on the one oni song I'm not butts at. Twice a week I keep my sanity with this when I'm alone. Sucks but what can you do.

oh uh, bonus nighttime shot from a main road. if you know where this is, neat. still alive. tomorrow is a new day.

Street shot from a sidewalk, before a pedestrian crossing. The shot focuses the distance and buildings in a night-time shot.

Had an urgent purchase for AA batteries. Delivery fee was 4€, and then a 2€ upcharge for a “small order” with a drink. Same reason I hated ordering cables from MediaMarkt, same shit.

Current settings are alright. Still further tweaking to do.

I think the new CPU is definitely putting its work in. (I uncapped the framerate for some testing).

Doing some NTLite shenanigans before the rest of the parts arrive. Haven't decided what drive I'm going to delegate Windows to yet since I'm switching back to Linux full-time with this build. I sadly do need Windows for a couple of things but the idea is to only boot in on an as-needed basis.

NTLite, a program used for modifying Windows install images.

We're slowly making progress towards me learning more and more. I'm happy to at least be finally making progress after two years of attempting to self teach and failing miserably as a complete and total moron. At the very least it's February now, so I can do some things at the very least.

020

Brooke @cafemilk.moe · 20/01/2024

We're kinda back. Had this install for a couple weeks. It's cozy compared to Windows, and I definitely don't miss Windows unless I have to use it for a couple of small things. Might consider properly ricing it, but at the moment, my energy calls for the bare minimum of existence.

New keyboard is done until my Morandis show up. Substituted some CIDOO Matte Greys for the time being. Need to fix the backspace stabiliser and get some foam to dampen the sound and reduce the high sound hurting my ears. Good board otherwise. Back to bed, I'm out of energy.

Guess I'm gonna be poking Epomaker on Twitter about this. Advertises a wired board at 1000hz, is actually 167hz.

000

Brooke @cafemilk.moe · 06/01/2024

Some multiple program testing (and some rhythm gaming) has shown how inconsistent; it's been bouncing between 500 and 1000hz from testing but this isn't definitive. This board is wonky. I could care less about QMK support, but 1000hz support is very, VERY important to me. Bounces from 1 to 5ms.

The osu! flag change meme is dead. Some back and forth with support and they gave it to me. I'm super thankful. I'm free.

Managed to edit a photo I took that was a bit overexposed; RAW is actually stupidly good to work with. A bit warm and the grass is a bit blurry, but that's likely shutter speed and a windy day doing it. I took this 4 days ago and just finished editing it.

An edited shot of a bridge underpass, with graffiti and a green Doraemon, looking angry with the corner of his skull missing, exposing the brain. In front of the graffiti is some grass, slightly obscuring the bottom of the graffiti.
